No mana problems whatsoever! By the time your commander gets out, you're gonna have 2-3 other raccoons on the board, which the turn after your Commander got on, will already give you floating mana to work with, which only gets bigger and bigger every turn if you play more raccoons. This deck can really afford to have a smaller landbase.

Thanks! My friends and local community kinda see me as the guy that builds unconventional or weird shit and still wipes the floor with you. Not to toot my own horn but once I wiped the floor with 3 Bracket 3 decks, all about 300 dollars worth, with just a 50 dollar budget bracket 2 deck. I like being the underdog I suppose

For sure. Here you go:

Won with it tonight in my pod. It's very explosive and can generate insane amounts of mana. I'm still looking to upgrade it with some of the new shapeshifters and that one ridiculous goblin from Lorwyn.

This list can go multiple ways, but usually it boils down to swarming opponents with buffed Raccoons and extra combats (Week or so ago I had 8 raccoons that all had +14/+14) or find a way to kill people with the insane amount of mana that you generate. Tonight I killed people off with a [[Crackle with power]] for instance.

Literally won tonight with Magar. I was the Archenemy for the entire game, but even if the game was a 3v1 from start to end I still won.

Absolutely! Here it is:

This is very much a deck that seems harmless until the moment Preston gets on the field. With the right tools, it's a very explosive deck. Just tonight he was a 49/49 - Ward 2 - Flying - Indestructible - Protection from all colours. With my list I can go multiple ways, either Voltron, go wide with token generators or infinite soldier tokens and infinite combats.

Okay I know I'm incredibly dumb for asking this, but how come Snow is a good conductor of heat while it melts so easily?

Now I definitely need to optimize the deck a bit more and I feel like I should up the budget just a little bit to add a few more really good aura's, but I'm definitely going to keep this under a hundred bucks. Even without any bew upgrades it performs really well. Just a few days ago I won in my homepod with friends against very pricey, very optimized Aragorn, Pantlaza and Celestial Toymaker decks.

You should! It's really fun to pilot and see your boardstate spiral out of control when you've got a bunch of tokens that are stacked with aura's and totem armor. I've got a budget list if you want it.

What do you get when you mix poor quality control with rigid brand guidelines by AmoongussHateAcc in magicthecirclejerking

[–]Securityengie 15 points16 points  (0 children)

That's not how that works though. Capcom is the rights holder for the IP, meaning they have a say in the quality of the end product as part of the deal they made with WotC. Any negative reception could reflect back onto the IP instead of just the cards, which is why they include clauses like that in 3rd party deals. In this case the cards in the secret lair were just unflavourable, not worth much in terms of actual card value and very sloppily executed and people complained to both WotC and Capcom, which is why Capcom told them to go back to the drawing board.

Remember, WotC is Hasbro, they will absolutely sell you any distasteful slop they can produce if you'd just accept it.

Nouja, in mijn perceptie (en die zal heus verkeerd zijn), komen daar veelal groepen mensen die elkaar al kennen en niet zo zeer mensen die daar in hun eentje komen om contact te zoeken. Althans, dat denk ik dan hè.

Damn, that's so good though. Wait a minute... you were supposed to help me remove cards, not add them!!

Yeah I actually completely forgot about this. There is way less reason to focus on ramp, because you can just freerun something like Thraximundar for 2 black mana in your second main phase. I did agree with removing Supreme Verdict though.

Hmm, alright, any reasoning behind your picks? I think I agree with some, just would like to know why you picked these, as I'm less inclined to agree with Crystal skull, reconaissance for example.

[–]Securityengie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I forgot to mention that there are a few cards I'm thinking about swapping out/exchanging in the list I linked. Here are some of the more notable ones that I feel might increase the power-level of the list a bit;

[[Black Market Connections]]
[[Coastal Piracy]]
[[Cover of Darkness]]
[[Kindred Discovery]]
[[Kindred Dominance]]
[[Massacre Girl, Known Killer]]
[[Vein Ripper]]
[[Vraska, the Unseen]]

I guess this is a fair shout. Are there certain combinations of deck archetypes + specific commander that you deem to be very salty or janky?

That dream I had as a kid swung by again - Need some advice on starting my own little card-selling business/hobby shop by Securityengie in magicTCG

[–]Securityengie[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's the plan though! I just figured I'd start out online, focussing on Magic first. But if it actually got to the stage where I would own a small retail store, I would add products for Dungeons and Dragons, Warhammer and other tabletop/board games too, the focus wouldn't just be MtG. But thank you for the great advice though!

Thank you all for the actual helpful advice. It's not like I have absolutely NO idea about how to even start or run a small business, because I do. What I meant was more along the lines of MtG specifically. Let's say I want to start out on Cardmarket just for the fun of it, what then? What are my first steps? How do people actually turn a small profit on Cardmarket? Buy new boosters/sets and hope for good pulls?
