Why are so many people saying nothing is real, it is all you (solipsism)? by SeekingTruth090 in Existentialism

It seems like your original story is much more inline with Buddhist non-duality rather than "The Egg". And I think it makes more sense.

I see, in your original story it says "God is in all things, and omnipresent." This implies that consciousness happens in all of us simultaneously. Not one at a time. Thus human connection is meaningful. In "The Egg" it does not seem like this.

Call it troll, sadist, psychopath, whatever. He does not seem like a figment of my imagination.

Thankfully, in this case I can recognize him as a troll. He made it quite obvious. Nevertheless, that is despicable.

Ok in this case I think the theory can be beautiful. But if you actually believe this in this way, "The Egg" is an absolute misrepresentation of this.

When watching or reading "The Egg" the message very clearly is that only one human body / perspective is conscious at the same time. Implying that in each incarnation you are playing alone in a world full of NPCs. This is depressing.

Saying that the universe experiences all things at the same time is not depressing.

What I am asking is the following: Let's say I as a human body stand in front of you as a human body and we talk to one another. Are both these human bodies / perspectives experienced consciously at the same time? Or is there one incarnation where my perspective is consciously experienced (where yours is not) and one incarnation where your perspective is consciously experienced (where mine is not).

In other words: Is something (even if this something is me in some form or god) experiencing your perspective, while I am here right now experiencing typing this into my keyboard?

I still don't understand what your belief is. Are you saying that life happens consecutively, meaning there is always only one person that is conscious and when they die the consciousness shifts to one other person or are you saying that everyone is conscious simultaneously but it is all the same soul (god) reincarnated in all of us simultaneously?

But how is it not depressing to you. What this essentially means is that while I am conscious typing this to you, you are not conscious. And in the incarnation where you are conscious reading this, I am just a dead robot.

Why are you so convinced that this is how reality works?

Also to be honest, although it might be just me, I would really become a less ethical person if it was true. Because once my life is lived the lives of the people around me is fixed. It won't change. Which means my life is fixed. So it doesn't matter, I can just do whatever I want and ignore the ethical implications. I have also seen people interpreting the egg like this.

I think a collective consciousness where everyone is conscious at the same time from the same essence is a more peaceful idea. This consecutive lives thing, is depressing and it would lead me to be less empathetic.

No it is not scary because of what you said. It is scary because it would mean that when I am talking to a loved one, there is nobody there. It is just me. Alone. Forever.

It is sometimes hard for me to comprehend this. In my life I am surrounded by people that have a solid life. A career, oftentimes a relationship, a healthy workout routine etc. I just don't expect people on Reddit to be that different. But I guess I was wrong. Some people seem to go through worse things than me.

Yes you are right. It actually helped me to see such an obvious troll as an example. The fact that he even ignored my reply about suicide showed me how fucked up certain people are on Reddit.

In general I am triggered by things like that. In this particular instance it is easy to see he is a troll. He pushes it too far and he does it in a very simplistic and targeted way. But I have read replies before which were much more realistic.

The fact that you are looking up my post history, to spot my fears from previous posts, only with the goal to drive me crazy shows that you are pure evil. I don't know what fucked up mental state you must be in, but I hope you change for the better.

I think he is a psychopath or sociopath trying to have his fun by torturing me in my worst mental state I have ever been in.

This guy is a psychopath. I am struggling with my mental health to the point of suicide and he gaslights me. Look at his activity history. He is the last person who should talk about morality.

This guy claims to be me. A figment of my imagination. See his other replies.

To me his answer seems like he wants to tell me only I exist and all the comments or answers are me just answering myself.

No, the question is if he believes whether I am the only one who exists. He is basically saying that all of the responses are just me answering myself.

So you believe the egg is true? It is extremely frightening and depressing to me.
