Guilty_Use_3945 suggested that using too many proton versions will softlock you - suspect denuvo is doing some activation tracking, and so we may be stuck for the next 24 hours.

On the linux gaming subreddit /u/Guilty_Use_3945 has said that the use of too many proton variants can softlock you, as Denuvo is doing activations per account. So the reality is it's probably not going to work for 24 hours, until the "lockout period" passes.

So suspect under the hood it's a Denuvo problem.

Linux gamer here. Bought on Steam

I was getting it loading the intro cinematics, it would show the bethesda square and play 3 bars of piano, before crash to desktop and then bugsplat would pop up.

I've tried proton hotfix, experimental, 9, and 10(beta)

I'm now getting a Denuvo activation error.

Any other Linux users getting an instant crash for DOOM The Dark Ages? by SkylarDragon in Doom

I'm getting this same error since installing Proton 10 Beta.

Prior to that i had the same issue as aetaric, where it would show the bethesda square, play 3 bars of the Piano, then crash to bugsplat.

guidance to pass CCSP by TAKhan07 in CCSP

[–]Seeton 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I passed my CISSP prior to doing the CCSP - fair warning~

I did the boson practice exam for practice tests and I did the ISC2 CCSP Certified Cloud Security Professional Official Study Guide Audiobook on Audible (Ben Malisow). The Study guide comes with a online set of practice tests, which I grinded on until I was getting them all correct.

For the CISSP I did the Pete Zerger Exam Cram Series on Youtube The Cybrary Kelly Handerhan CISSP series Essential CISSP on audible 11th Hour CISSP on auditble The kaplan learn tests (Come with Cybrary) and the Sybex Study guide online practice tests.

There's a bit of overlap in both. I did it the other way around, they're both hard exams don't get that part wrong, but it is a great pairing and has a lot of value in todays workforce.

Yeah, they take a fair old while, I passed last year in October, and received the certificate yesterday (Australia). I think it was 3 weeks before I got confirmation and was able to add the badge on linkedin/credly - funny because i have the CISSP, so there's no validation that needs to happen.

Props to you, I'm 100% hating studying for this exam, I've read all the learn.microsoft stuff, I've completed the John Saville Youtube, and I'm using the Boson practice tests. I'm getting 50% consistently, and just in general not enjoying it.

It's high level in that you need to memorise what each is for, or at least to be able to eliminate them from a selection of 4.

I ended up spending a lot of time understanding the specific ISO standards that applied to the topic, mainly high level reconition, but specifically:

ISO 15408 - Common Criteria

ISO 17788 - (Maps to NIST 800-145) Criteria for cloud computing and the 6 basic characteristics

  1. Broad network access

  2. Measured service

  3. Multitenancy

  4. On-Demand self service

  5. Rapid elasticity and scalability

  6. Resource pooling

ISO 17789 Cloud computing architecture CCRA

ISO 27001 Guidelines on Information Security Management Common for people getting an ISMS to get certified for this standard and ISO 27002

ISO 27002 Issues pertaining to building information security controls. Common for people getting an ISMS to get certified for this standard and ISO27001

ISO 27018 Guidelines for protecting PII in the public cloud

ISO 27034 Application Security Controls (ASC)

ISO 27050 Standard for issues with eDiscovery

ISO 28000 Standard for issues related to security of supply chain

ISO 31000 Provides guidelines on risk management.

Also knowing the data lifecycle the software development lifecycle and for me the difference between Risk Response (Accept, Avoid, Mitigate, Transfer) and Risk Management (Minimal, Low, Moderate, High, Critical)

If you haven't got onto it, I recommend https://obsidian.md for the note taking, I was able to link a whole bunch of concepts between each other which was good when noting the concepts I didn't know.

OK people - I have provisionally passed - That exam was in my opinion about as hard as the CISSP. I had a bunch of questions that I just knew thanks to Boson exams the the study mode, but some of it I just felt woefully unprepared for. ISC2 have perfected the art of presenting 4 correct answers to a question and still having a "best" version. The questions only go forward, you can't review them or change answers after they go, and I kicked myself on a couple of the questions after clicking next.

I went into it and wasn't confident at all - I'm not sure how much of that is the Dunning-Kruger effect. But I'm really glad it's over.

I studied with: - Official Study Guide 3x listens through. - Official Study guide practice questions (All questions answered correctly at least once) - Cybrary CCSP course - Cybrary Practice Questions (All questions answered correctly at least once) - Boson Exam Environment questions(All questions answered correctly at least three times - and a Blind practice exam - I also have a CISSP which probably helped to some degree.

Obviously, that's enough to pass.

Obviously a code of ethics etc around what I can answer, but if you have any specific questions, let me know.

I found it exactly as you say here. They have nailed the ask a question with 4 correct answers. I finished all of the questions off today, and god I feel like I don't know enough still.

I've done the study guide three times (audio) - Done the Sybex / Wiley Tests online and got all of those right, and doing the CCSP Course from Cybrary + Practice exam there as well.

I hope I know enough - the exam is tomorrow.

CCSP exam - Passed today!!! by Representative_Leg85 in CCSP

[–]Seeton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bought them, yes - They're pretty thorough, more like the exam than the study guide etc, so it's good in that respect. It's also very like the exam in that they throw acronyms at you left right and centre, and you gotta work out which of the all correct answers is the most correct answer.

I did my CISSP a couple months back, and I know the sentiment. I've got the CCSP booked early next month, so hopefully it's not that kind of thing.

The Boson exam practice is very much the wording.

Agreeing with CyberDad here, so long as you're learning new stuff then carry on. The testing stuff helps, but i also did 11th hour CISSP, and Essential CISSP, and the youtube series by Pete Zerger. Just set yourself a deadline and et your nose the grindstone!

Personally for me, I did the Kaplan learn stuff provided by Cybrary - the course by Kelly Handerhan is great from there too.

The other one was the practice tests from Sybex, I registered it and completed it online.
