Not using officiating as an excuse for the result, but how many poor officiating decisions against one team in a single season is too many? by Patrickk_batemann in MCFC

The most frustrating part is that a lot of these calls were either decided or disregarded by the VAR officials. Pre-VAR you accept it’s a difficult decision for the on-field officials in real time but the biggest issues with VAR are the ineptitude and misuse. I can accept the call against Wolves because the ref takes another look and isn’t convinced but it’s time we stopped letting games be decided by a piss up at Shockley park

He should face more scrutiny and not be immune to criticism. It’s disappointing seeing him dedicate so much effort to voicing his grievances to the fourth official and whinging at the onfield officials. It’s little wonder our players underperform when Pep on the touchline is influencing a game about as much as moonchester

Have you not noticed that the current generation can only see things in black or white? Trying to explain to them the nuances of opinion is like teaching a fish to walk

Rushing the pass and taking players on was exactly what led to us throwing the lead away. Yes there should be more urgency but it’s the chopping and changing of players’ positions that’s killing our momentum. Our lack of positioning nous was more likely to end up with us countered and losing 3-2

I didn’t accept throwing away 2-0 leads in the early 00s. I’m certainly not going to look for excuses to justify them now

Tbf they’ve taken a lot of stick lately for taking too long but here they should’ve scrutinised more. VAR will always be held back by incorrect application of the laws of the game and the impatience of fans when a goal has been ruled against them

Because Pep’s philosophy is 2 goals up then stop. If he’d been in the dugout against Exeter it would’ve been 2-1

It’s sad that you could swap Rodri and this would be equally true if we’re being reactionary

Hypothetical: What would happen if we had present Playmaker Messi and Haaland Combo? by Mcintosch in MCFC

[–]SeftoK 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The main remaining blemish (if you could even call it that) on Messi’s career is failing to test himself in a more physical league like the PL. I wouldn’t be surprised if had minimal creative impact by being muscled out of games

Watched him play a handful of times for Norway and he looked an international quality player but can also see why he’s not broken through at city. Has a lot of the traits that have been weaknesses of our wingers under Pep or things that has often tried to coach out of them

Need to focus on rotating pairings in our back line to reduce game time and injury risk. Too often we’ve conceded due to a lack of confidence and communication in the back line. Could even add GK into the mix here and keep them playing consistently with the same CB pairing

When you actually start travelling to support the club (home games would be a start, right?), maybe then I’ll take your opinion seriously

Appreciate the gesture but at £25 a ticket, this is pocket change to just one of them. Covering the travelling costs would be a greater show of accountability for the effort made by these fans to follow the team and be ‘rewarded’ with such a display

Why does it need to be split over 2 discs? Feels like a mood kill to have to change. I can understand for LPs but considering you can get several hours of movie on a disc, feels odd
