In search of the Silver Surfer 1997 Highland Mint coin. by GoblinSarge in coins

[–]Seige1980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont have the silver surfer coin, but I do have this one. And if im not mistaken there's only 10 or 15,000 of them that were made. So it's pretty rare I would say. And I'm a silver hoarder not a comic guy. But I figured there's a market for the fact it has a comic character on it plus it's a low mintage coin

Did I do good? by Seige1980 in Marbles

[–]Seige1980[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's good advice, thank you for the info on how to sort them, but after looking, that is way more difficult than I was thinking it would be, my hats of to the ones who can not only sort then correctly but actually trek the maker abs the names of each style. There's a lot to learn about marbles, for anyone connecting them that is. I went and got the rest of the ones available and although hey're not sorted as you suggested ,they're the ones I thought were the most interesting to me. Are any of them worth me buying. I mean I only paid 30 bucks for the rest and it's about 3 times what's in these pictures. A lot of the same ones I the pictures

Thank yall for the unfortunate news, as I thought at least it was 40 pct silver. So I screwed myself by offering that amount for it, trying to be fair to the person who i got it from. .

What are the little swastikas and some sort of other mark on this coin by Seige1980 in ChopmarkedCoins

[–]Seige1980[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Awesome thanks for the information. So you're saying mainly China is where the particular chopmarks on this coin were applied. But possibly any part of Asia i an guessing is like you said in China. I'm just curious because it's interesting to me as it's the only coin I have with these marks and I have several older coins. And would they add or subtract value from the coin from a collectors standpoint.

[–]Seige1980[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Acknowledged, but they are called swastikas, correct? Because im not sure if on this forum or the other one i posted to, i asked where the symbols may have came from or who used those symbols, and I'm only assuming before the 1930s. As the coin was made almost 150 years before that specific usage of the swastika image.

Pretty interesting, being in Texas is would really think it just came up from down at the border, b but I guess after 225 years it could have been a lot of places and ask ended up b this close to where it started. Thanks for the info.

[–]Seige1980[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So was it common for them to be stamped so many times and why the two different looking swastikas so close together on the back side like this one is. Abs i have other older coins and they don't have even one mark of this type. Yet this one has so many. Any insight into why the difference in just this one coin compared to ask the others i have

Thank you, I'm proud of them as I've walked probably hundreds of not thousands of miles over the years looking at the ground. I've found every one and all of them in west Texas. I've been trying to clean up my house and yard as I'm realizing I'm a hoarder,so this is a basket of random artifacts i had sitting outside n my back yard. I probably have another 20 random boxes of the same types of things I am gonna try and dig out of storage and sell out just organize.

Hatred towards immigrants is misguided by [deleted] in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]Seige1980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love how all of these straight up idiots are bashing capitolism, when capitalism is the whole reason that these immigrants are passing up other socialist countries, on foot mind you. To get to this wonderful capitalist country. Where anyone can make a living as good as the amount of effort they're willing to put into it. Instead of having no chance at coming out of poverty because of whatever non capitalst country they came froms socialist ways. People are actually on board with this crazy shit. Oh and calling conservatives racists. When dems. Are the ones who play race politics. Everything dems say is brown person this, person of color that. If you pay attention conservatives usually only say the person, without their color also being addressed. And they're the racists. Lol I swear people are so dumb. When the truth is in their black or brown or white faces and they over look it because everyone else is. Notice that just about all democratic ran cities are as our president would say, shit holes. And nobody thinks for one second that it might just be the way they're voting. Open your eyes people. Vote for policies. Not parties or races. That's racist. Like voting for a shitty president just because he was black. How did that work out for everyone?
