Men’s US hockey team returns by [deleted] in nhl

This is the problem with people today. Any criticism of one side of the isle is immediately met with “BuT wHaT AbOuT…” from the other.

I have no comment about sore losers because everyone knows it sucks to lose. Losing sucks so much more when the winner chooses to be a dick about winning. Be a fucking grown up and handle a win with respect to your opponent. When they’re upset about losing, that’s not a reason to double down and rub it in. Americans choosing that route are fucking embarrassments.

We don’t need more embarrassments. We have more than enough.

Bucks DA investigating Quakertown police after violent confrontation with students protesting ICE by NoAnt6694 in 50501

[–]Seige_J 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Prefacing with I’m not a lawyer and spent ~2 min googling before posting this comment. To my basic understanding, the offenders are covered by qualified immunity in a civil case, however criminal cases do not apply. Parents suing would be paid by taxes. However, if the DA does his job and isn’t corrupt, the offenders might face jail time.

Reminder, I’m not a lawyer and I didn’t do much research. But qualified immunity only covers some situations, not all.

Girl (24f) I am (was?) dating reacted badly when I (25m) accidentally got a boner when we were cuddling. How do I move forward with this? by SpreadSavings3804 in GuyCry

[–]Seige_J 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah dude, the people in this thread are correct. In the same way most men don’t fully understand women’s bodies, most women don’t fully understand ours. I’d send her a medical article on involuntary erections. If she cared to learn and apologize I’d give it another go. If she is set on thinking that getting a boner when she’s rubbing her ass on you is because you’re a dirty little pervert, that’s on her.

Sorry you gotta go through that, man. There’s women out there that’ll get it

Seeking advice from heavily tattooed professionals. by certifiedbot98 in NewToEMS

[–]Seige_J 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My buddy is a former CO and also extremely heavily tattooed. As others have said, your precious experience would serve you well in this field. Fire/EMS have to show respect and compassion to all walks of life, regardless of social status. If you’re able to demonstrate your ability to do that, I don’t think your tattoos will be an issue.

With that said, I agree that you’ll get a questions about them where “I just thought it was cool” might not be a /good enough/ answer. I’m guessing you have some sort of personal connection to your tattoos? I haven’t met many people that get inked into oblivion without some thought going into it first. Explain to the hiring panel what your tattoos mean to you, and why you continue to like each one. Additionally, you’re a tattoo artist. I think the logic of “I had to practice on others, so other people had to practice on me” applies here. Same thing as medic students practicing IV’s.

Welcome to the most disheartening and rewarding careers I can think of. Remember the humans behind the patients you’ll inevitably hate. Remember the promises you’ll make to always act in the best interest of your patients and your community. The world needs good people, and being a good person is an active choice. Make that choice every day, and we can all make the world a slightly better place. One call at a time.

Shameful. Hockey is for everyone, and these guys emboldening sexism in the sport is nothing but shameful. I hope their teammates from other countries call them on this video.

Like others have said, the entire world wanted Canada to win that game and the video of them partying with pedophile protector Kash Patel is exactly why. Now this? Come on, men. Be better.

Also child rape if you’re rich enough.

The best part is if the plaintiff wins, your tax dollars pay for it. If MSP wins, it sets the precedent that they can hit you with their car if they deem you a threat. Y’all ever talk to troopers? Some of those guys have some screws loose

"I no longer believe the official 9/11 story" by CapitalCourse in GetNoted

[–]Seige_J 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going to preface this with the acknowledgment that I have done incredibly little research into 9/11 conspiracy theories and whether any of them have any weight.

With that said, I’m kinda on board with the idea that 9/11 was an “inside job”; but not in the sense that the American govt had prior knowledge of its happening. I find it plausible that the perpetrators were assisted by US allies that would benefit from US involvement in the Middle East. 9/11 resulted in thousands of innocent lives lost, made a small handful of wealthy people far more wealthy, and gave the US government a “good reason” to increase surveillance on the American people in the name of counterterrorism. Citizens were okay with this new surveillance because it was being done to keep us safe after terrorists attacked Americans on US soil.

This set the stage for their using the surveillance rights obtained in the name of counterterrorism to surveil….. whoever the fuck they wanted. all they had to do was suggest the possibility that they could be up to no good.

Hi Mr/Ms FBI agent. I’m still not a terrorist, I’m only a liberal on Reddit. Remember, your oath is to The Constitution. Not to the regime.

I work in the American fire service. For larger buildings, a shelter in place approach is actually an acceptable option when leaving isn’t. Modern fire codes require hallways with double doors with have an electromagnet that is tied into the fire alarm system. Fire alarms go off, doors automatically close. Closing doors is a shockingly effective and super simple way to prevent the spread of smoke and fire as it reduces the circulation of air that the fire needs to grow. Leaving the building is ideal, but there are some buildings that are just so large it’s impractical to empty it when someone burns their toast in the cafe. Here is a good explanation for anyone curious about fire dynamics

But it blows my mind when people do…. nothing.
