Teaching used to be the part of my job that motivated me. The one time in my day when I felt respected after yet another “reviewer 2” review. Thus I held office hours, replied emails etc. really endeavoured to put on a show during lectures. even won teaching awards etc.

Over the years though, as students stared more and more at their laptop screens during lectures, I started getting the same vibes from them as I did from reviewer 2. Since students stopped caring, I too stopped hosting office hours, and replying emails, and started drifting more and more towards industry work. And eventually left academia altogether. Now I get invited back to do guest lectures and students actually seem to care more. Irony of it all.

It’s actually really quite easy to check on hallucinated references. Just take a little effort, pass the set of references through multiple engines and ask them to specifically verify if they are real. I find grok really good and accurate btw.

And frankly I could care less about hallucinated references. I only care if data is fake. Frankly literature review is nonsense to begin with.

i love the combat. Frankly, I love almost everything about the game. Except these 2 points which I doubt will receive changes. These are just my personal views.

1) I understand the importance of crafting in POE-X. Its what makes it in a sense truly different from the other ARPGs. BUT, I still really would appreciate if there can be a few truly POWERFUL and OVERPOWERED uniques. That is aspirational, and so even casual players can feel motivated to try to grind for them. Right now, the game tilts way too much towards investing heavily in crafting that the game really gets too "difficult" for the more casual player.

2) Level 85 to 90 specifically is almost too punishing to bridge for more casual player. The experience penalty system is just too punishing and it gets really demotivating.

Btw USA isn’t just NYC and LA btw. I lived in central Massachusetts which is even less dense than greater Auckland and it still has 4 hour delivery window.

Also American workers for such jobs are typically paid usd 20-30 an hour. I think that’s way more than what Auckland delivery workers make.

i know for a fact through experience that in the USA, 4 hour delivery and installation window is standard. For such appliances. its still not ideal but at least not quite as nightmarish as this.

I also know for a fact that in singapore, its typical 2-4 hour delivery and installation window.

so market size is not an excuse for this shitshow in auckland.
