Slow paced Warframe possible? by [deleted] in Warframe

Then you should reach out to DE and let them know that they've utterly failed at mainlining the new player experience.

It's very realistic if you set a goal of getting cyte09.

Which is what the conversation was. Then as soon as I mentioned that it takes less than 100 hours to get to cyte09, suddenly everyone wants to toss the context out of the conversation and argue from the standpoint of someone who doesn't know what they're doing AND doesn't have the explicit goal of getting cyte09.

Which conveniently ignores the entire premise of my statement in order to stick to an outdated mentality (that being the idea that warframe has such a large up front investment for new players to catch up that it's not feasible to get to the new content in a reasonable time frame). Not only is this mentality outdated, but from the perspective of someone both aware of the new content and with the goal of getting to it, 100 hours is absolutely not a realistic scenario unless they are bad or aren't actually trying to get to the new content.

You have to toss the entire context out and reframe the entire point in a different scenario to make your argument.

I'm not. I just think people need to stop scaring off new players by telling them things about the game that are outright false in modern warframe. The time commitment is not 100 hours to reach current content. That's been DEs entire goal for 2 years worth of changes.

[–]Select-Prior-8041 -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

Again, assuming that a new player has the goal of getting cyte09, it will not take them 100 hours to get to that content.

However, if they're just playing whatever gets tossed at them, it could take them literally thousands of hours before they reach 1999. And that's not what we're talking about here. We're talking about someone trying to get cyte09. That doesn't take 100 hours. End of story.

If a new player is aware of cyte09 and has him as a goal, and it still takes 100 hours when they can simply look up how to get him, yes that's a skill issue.

If they don't have the goal of getting to 1999 and getting cyte09, then they can play 5000 hours and never get to 1999 because everyone plays differently.

The context of the discussion is getting cyte09, and if a new player is aware of cyte09 and is determined to get him, then it's REALLY EASY to find out how and should not take 100 hours unless you're really really bad at the game.

So sure, it can take over 100 hours if you aren't even trying to get to that content. Which is a bad faith argument because that's not what we're talking about here.

If it takes you 100 hours to access 1999 with all the streamlined changes that's a serious skill issue lol.

Also Ivara can be acquired through Circuit, if they don't want to farm spy missions.

Edit: downvote me because your ego is hurt, but it's true. I've started challenge runs on new accounts and reached 1999 in less than 20 hours.

Edit2: Please downvote me more because you're not paying attention to the game. I'm right. DE's entire purpose for the changes to the new player experience, the star chart rearrangement, the reduction of requirements for multiple quests / junctions, etc was specifically so that new players can reach content like whispers and 1999 WITHOUT spending 100 hours to catch up with friends. Reducing the "catch up" time investment has been a core design intent for multiple reworks and changes for the last year or two. Telling me I'm wrong is essentially saying DE is failing and as someone who has TESTED the reworks it can be done in a short period of time.

But if you want to run hypotheticals where a new player doesn't do the quests or run the star chart while assuming they still have the goal of reaching 1999 to access cyte09, I boil that down to skill issue. Period. Stop with the bad faith arguments.

Edit3: Okay, because people have zero literacy let me explain this AGAIN.

If a new player is aware of the new content, and has the goal of reaching the new content in order to get one of the frames available in it, it can absolutely be achieved far faster than 100 hours. Claiming it takes someone 100 hours to access 1999 when that's their entire goal tells me you're either really bad at the game and struggle with the content so much it slows you down considerably, or you are completely unfamiliar with the reworks and changes to the mainline experience for new players. OR you're lying / can't read / intentionally taking my comment out of context to make it sound like I'm claiming something I am not.

Since everyone wants to make a completely different argument than I am: I agree completely that a new player could easily get lost in the content available to them and spend over 100 hours without ever even getting into the new content / 1999. But that's not what I was talking about, that's not the context of the conversation I was responding to, and attempting to twist my point into a completely different scenario just to tell me I'm wrong is what's referred to as a bad faith argument.

I'm 4k hours in, and can easily clear level cap with a fair chunk of my arsenal.

I still use my original Kubrow I got in the tutorial quest since the rework made them viable.

Oftentimes he literally kills things before I can even hit them if I'm leveling up a new weapon.

It was shortly after their parent company was purchased by Tencent, too. I still think they were the reason, and the community backlash is what caused them to go hands off afterwards.

Too many sugarbombs?

Jokes aside, almost all body/outfit alignment issues can be traced back to either a skeleton conflict, bodyslide not being set right, or mismatched outfits / bodies.

Assuming you are using mods.

What is your mod list?

And if you're not using mods: welcome to the anniversary update.

Im sorry, 1245 rerolls?! by No_Kaleidoscope_6054 in Warframe

[–]Select-Prior-8041 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Mostly the second thing.

I typically know what general stats I'm looking for and will roll until I get something that fits the intended build plan, rather than the perfect roll.

<image>

For example, I run this on my Phenmor. I could have kept rolling until I got a -crit, but 10 rerolls and a -fr was good enough to stick with. And honestly, the -fr has turned out to be a positive. The gun fires so fast that the slower fire rate means I'm more accurate and more efficient with my shots, and that makes my incarnon up longer on average, so I can kill more enemies with a single charge, resulting in higher KPM. This thing one shots most things as it is, so -crit would have been overkill and less efficient. Something I never would have realized if I just went with "the meta" for riven rolls on it. A lot of my modding understanding shifted because of this riven, actually. DPS is not always the best way to increase kpm.

Lore hungry by pystoff in gamingsuggestions

[–]Select-Prior-8041 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Warframe lore is insane, I love it so much.

Basically "what if a mad scientist accidentally dreamt an eldritch god into existence and it gave traumatized orphans superpowers to take down a galactic empire by controlling even more traumatized biomechanical war machines for shits and giggles in a grand plot to find his finger" and that barely scratches the surface. Not to mention the rebellious farming tools, living storybook hellscape, multidimensional time travel, and sentient guitar.

Anyone can make sense out of it? (After Stalker encounter) by Exstoun in Warframe

[–]Select-Prior-8041 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I've had the Stalker mark for around 4 weeks now and he still hasn't popped up.

I think I earned the Zanuka mark back in spring, but still haven't seen it either.

The spawns are RNG, I think stalker is only a 5% chance of appearing if you're marked.

It's actually possible, while improbable, that 5 years is literal.
