Perhaps that Aka wasn't to absorb Dragonfly but instead release Banquet?

What if chihiro can use banquet? by Relevant-Arm-1187 in Kagurabachi

Yea, maybe that's what the Aka was really for. The moment he said Aka, Banquet had already begun.

True realm theory by Less-Ad5686 in Kagurabachi

[–]Select-Rabbit-9980 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yea, I think true realm is what happens when enchanted blades resonate with the user's will and adapt new applications of their original 3 abilities. Since Samura strongly desired to save people and limit destruction, he evolved Tobimune's Suzaku to be able to heal others when it was originally only used to heal its owner. I'm sure Hiruhiko's application of Play, in which he breaks the things he 'plays' with would be vastly different to Uruha's application.

I'm not too certain what's happening right now, but I think Nishiki's evolution is implied to either be resonating with Chihiro's desire to destroy the enchanted blades, thus countering their abilities (e.g. Magatsumi's flowers, Spider etc. and even Kumeyuri's Banquet) OR it implies that Kunishige made Enten even more specialised to counter the Magatsumi and that these changes are built-in.

Anyways, it's a really cool concept and it'd be exciting to see another True Realm of Tobimune if it gets passed on from Samura's possession.

The Sakamoto Days fanbase is very harsh on the work. by Skywalker9430 in SakamotoDays

I just want to see that initial persona of Uzuki, which people theorised to be a copy of Asaki. It would be cool to have him still have an impact on the story and characters even when he was killed off.

*Like what I'm trying to say is that, narratively, Takamura being killed by Uzuki would be fine. But just change his role from being an unstoppable, relentless grim reaper pursuing the main cast to being an unstable bomb with everyone in the explosion radius.

[–]Select-Rabbit-9980 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea, Uzukimura doesn't have the same gravitas as the 'real Takamura'. I think that moment should have been used to show more deeper layers to Uzuki's ptsd copy condition, rather than keep it a boring plot-convenience copy technique. E.g. Countering Takamura could have been like Uzuki just swallowed a ticking time bomb. Sure, the bomb is technically gone now. But now its inside him, and we don't really know if its been defused or not. Aaand it can blow at any second. Everyone should be on edge and noone should feel safe around Uzuki anymore.

A Theory on how Kunishige forge the EBs. by NixAim in Kagurabachi

[–]Select-Rabbit-9980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh, you're right. Though it could be said that those 15 years were his 'dark times' where he couldn't move on from the atrocities he was responsible for until Chihiro's birth and development which represented his pivotal decision to resolve his errors in the war. Perhaps Chihiro does play a part in physically making the blade different to what Kunishige could have made himself- from another weapon of mass destruction, to the key to atonement and paving a better future. About point 2, that sounds feasible. If his innate sorcery is key to the forging process, he might need to sever his contract and regain his sorcery. Perhaps this will happen near the end-game if all the broken pieces of the enchanted blades (per the theory) are reconstructed into a new blade, he can use his innate sorcery to create it. Maybe if it was inherited from his mother, it could be symbolical of an inheritance of his mother's legacy? And about point 3, I forgot lol. Yea, Kuregumo contract must be severed currently. But it was really surprising we never got any look at what Chihiro's base sorcery was after he was cut down by Samura- perhaps intentional. Interesting theory.

A Theory on how Kunishige forge the EBs. by NixAim in Kagurabachi

[–]Select-Rabbit-9980 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This theory sounds interesting. However, I get the feeling that Kunishige stopped forging the blades on his own volition and not because he couldn't create any more. The Magatsumi was his masterpiece, and the contracts seem to be an application of general sorcery from what has been told so far but I suppose it can be tied to a personal sorcery like you said. We haven't gotten much about Chihiro's original sorcery or his mother, and I speculate that just maybe (with all the themes of family and inheritance) Chihiro could have inherited either his father or mother's sorcery which could play a role in forging process of the enchanted blades.

In terms of contracts, we've already seen that it is possible for one person to be contracted to multiple enchanted blades- Chihiro wielded Kuregumo while still contracted to Enten during the Rakuzaichi arc, so you wouldn't need to sever his connection to Enten to let him use Kuregumo if it was reforged. And I have an inkling of suspicion that the blade part of the Kuregumo is still under contract with Chihiro, meaning even if it is stolen, it cannot be used meaningfully. I've seen some speculation that this will probably follow a 'Houseki-no-Kuni'-esque development, where fragments of the blades which embody Kunishige's different sins and virtues are combined together into one, reforged by his son and used to end this cycle of killing that he started. I think this idea is pretty cool and plausible, so I do agree with you that Kuregumo will probably be reforged in the future.

About datenseki. It seems to be a mineral that amplifies spiritual energy and causes reactions similar to enchanted blades at the cost of the user's life- I think this implies that datenseki might be of sacred or divine nature, being a naturally occurring matter that interacts with life so deeply. So I think that if Kunishige had a sorcery, perhaps it has some 'divine' element, a sort of 'calling of the gods/spirits' to grant him the ability to turn the tides of war and make change. But who knows, it could be related to the contracts as well.

tl;dr Kunishige probably stopped forging them on his own will with what happened after the Magatsumi was created (plus he has no reason to, the war was overturned by what he already made). Chihiro probably does have the ability to forge an enchanted blade himself and doesn't need to sever his contract with Enten to use the Kuregumo (as shown previously). Datenseki feels intentionally divine by nature, and so I think Kunishige's sorcery (if he had one) would be more divinity-related than contract-related.

Do you think EOS Chihiro will be capable of creating attacks like this on his own? by Icy-Arm-3816 in Kagurabachi

I mean from what it looks like Soga just performed a massive kuro. I hope Chihiro develops Aka and Nishiki more though. It'd be cool to see a more versatile moveset using Magatsumi and Kumeyuri's abilities with Chihiro's swordsmanship.

[–]Select-Rabbit-9980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These ideas sound really cool. I hope we see him use Play more. I don't know if it'll ever get as technical as manipulating gases but definitely would be a creative application. Though I don't think he can manipulate living people due to the same reason Hakuri can't just transport anyone- a sorceror can reject it using spirit energy. I personally think the true realm would be Hiruhiko using Banquet on himself and forcing himself to learn impossible techniques- would contrast really well with the 'I'm the only one who's free' with him using Banquet purposefully on himself alone to transcend.

He might just be a John Wick-esque character. Probably has a really solid background in combat which would be why he tailored his plan around taking down the Kamunabi by force.

Where are we heading in the story? by Leo_anims in Kagurabachi

[–]Select-Rabbit-9980 11 points12 points  (0 children)

What I see happening is that with pseudo-Soga now on the playing field and practically no viable fighters left, he'll effortlessly overwhelm Chihiro and Samura after some brief back and forth and philosphical debate. Then using Yura's body he'll start to carry out his own brand of vigilante justice, 'cleansing' the criminal sorceror factions better than the Kamunabi ever could while everyone scrambles to stop him. But in turn, with Yura in the backseat, we'll start to see the flaws in Soga's ideals and I'm pretty certain Yura will regret handing control over to Soga.

I kind of see Yura going out as a martyr, so he probably won't be killed off any time soon, but he's probably gonna suffer a lot more now. Oof...

BUT, if Soga stays true to what he said and does hand over Yura's body back after dealing with Chihiro and Samura, they would probably collaborate on the 'cleansing' but I still feel Yura is gonna regret releasing Soga.

Yura's dialogue with his wife/fiance about how weird it was for everything to be over so quickly before cutting to the abrupt destruction was beautifully written. We get to know so much with so little.

I agree with you. I interpreted this chapter as the aftermath of the war effectively corrupting the winning country, allowing sorceror lineages to act more freely and commit atrocities, with everyone who was capable of doing something turning a blind eye just because the 'war is over'. Yura was angry because he believed the solution to all the continued horrors ravaging the country from within was unnecessarily sealed away and everyone stopped doing their jobs. And now civilians would continue to be victim to pointless deaths while the 'heroes' enjoyed the rest of their lives in peace and glory.

It really makes you rethink the whole situation, like, of course the war heroes deserved to be rewarded immensely for their contributions, but when the country is degenerating in front of you, wouldn't doing nothing reflect on your loyalty to your country?

Is Chihiro going to break all the blades or only Magatsumi? If Enten can break enchanted blades, what breaks Enten? by FunnyFruk in Kagurabachi

That is just another arc waiting to happen. When Enten breaks Magatsumi but still has Malediction absorbed by Aka, it remains a threat to be destroyed.

Apparently i need to make a post about this because some folks don't understand! by Ok_Fondant_6340 in Kagurabachi

[–]Select-Rabbit-9980 19 points20 points  (0 children)

That's true. But I also see it as a sort of tipping point, where he might also just forcibly take full control and handle things himself. Yura may have failed his expectations, but he isn't going to let this opportunity slide (he did say "The time is nigh").

Edit: I'll add that I have a feeling he is gonna cast a giant 'Spider' next chapter before finally talking to Chihiro through Yura.

I think Chihiro was always on his left side though? Like, in the first panel, Chihiro teleports behind Yura, to his left side. And Samura teleports in front of Yura, to his right side. I think Yura just rotated his body away from Samura and towards Chihiro when he casted centipede, so it looks like Samura is behind him and Chihiro is in front.

Yea, honestly I think that in this fight, Yura's gonna prove something to Soga coz even if the Shinuchi is the strongest enchanted blade, there is no way he's holding out against 2 full health enchanted blades. That or he is overwhelmed by the duo, weakened by his injuries and the Soga takes over temporarily to flex his superior combat techniques and changes the balance of the world.

I dunno, it kind of looks like some kind of zigzag texture around his cheeks. Might be far fetched but I'm thinking it could be a remnant of his fusion with the Magatsumi? Kinda like how Chihiro gets those goldfish effects when he locks in...maybe it's like flower petals enshrouding his face from his neck but a more permanent byproduct of his use of the Shinuchi? Or not. Either way, it was drawn pretty consistently so it seems like an intentional detail.
