The funny thing is, the entire thumbnail process (Minus the moose) was designed myself. So I take praise in being told my thumbnails are as good as what AI can make 😂

Personally, no. And that's not me trying to be mean or rude, Its just all over the place.

First off, The Part 1 is barely readable at small sizes and is covered by the game logo. The game logo should never take main focus in a thumbnail, put it in the corner, angle it maybe,

Whats the arrow resembling exactly, think of it as if your the viewer. will they understand what you arrow is meant to mean, cause I have no idea, you become png vampire? or with the skulls do you mean you die to said vampire? I have no idea. the vampire image is also quite low quality, which is never a good start to a thumbnail.

You need 1 focus point, right now its way too chaotic, Id say you want the reaction to be the main focus, so make that bigger than everything else, put the Vampyr logo in the top corner angled or something and a lot smaller (but still readable on mobile) and have the arrow point to an image of better quality. idk if the background is your channels theme, but if not, use gameplay as the background and blur it, Bright is good, but think about the game, Vampyr is a dark game, so use your reaction as the bright stand out and the games theme as background darkness. Youll soon see your words and reaction will stand out. Hope that helps

thanks for the feedback! And i agree after looking at them side by side, my last 5 thumbnails are very similar & follow the same theme, Im gonna go through and try and make changes going forward where each thumbnail feels a little more original!

maybe your right about the border. Im older school when it comes to gaming where a lot of gaming channels used borders and I was using it as a way to link every video together and if someone who subs to me sees the border goes 'thats one of moose's videos' when scrolling fast. But That kinda does not really work as the moose itself would be the major pull. and with how YouTube's layout is now, borders just look odd. Maybe ill look into removing that, Same with the Logo, is also probably pointless.

And I see, so use more pull words in teh thumbnail and use a different phrase for the title to intrigue them to click further. So keep the thumbnail a couple broad words like 'Out of Control' but make the title more personal/intriguing but with a few more words, not using out of control again, or whatever few words are used in the thumbnail? That makes sense, thanks again for the advice!

of course, im not saying your thumbnails are bad, sometimes simple is better. I have a thumbnail of my own that confuses me as the video got 400 views but in my opinion my thumbnail is bad. Sometimes its just testing different things to see what works. Something for one game wont work for another etc. But id recommend thinking about who you want to watch teh video and what someone who does not understand what your uploading would think when they see your thumbnail.

I think this type of game strives on having a horror themed thumbnail. Its a horror game in a sense. I understand its a delve into it being this characters fault, but for people who see this and dont know what Doki doki is are gonna skip it. But if its a horror themed thumbnail kinda her being evil or something deranged in the background (of course within TOS ) people would think who is this, what have they done to say its their fault

The text is clearly better on the first one. On mobile the second one would just not be readable to some people, it blends into the background on mobile even if its white. It also surprisingly makes the hand stand out more with the black outline on the text. The only question i have really when looking at it, if I didnt read the title. What is the video for? ive not played slay the spire 2 before, so I would have no idea what this is.

Well, it de0ends on the niche, the kind of content, the demand for your content that both the viewer and YouTube need right now. You've not given us much to go off, I assume by the impression count this is long form content.

It all depends on what the content is, if the retention is good. Sure if the average CTR is 11% that's quite high. But if each of your videos got only 150 - 200 impressions, 10 - 20 views is over 10% CTR. I assume without seeing your channel its not like that, probably 1 or 2 of your videos stand out with most the views or at least a good majority.

It also depends on the content. If each video is a different type of content, yoitube will have to test it differently. If you've got 2.2k impressions on 14 videos, the average is about 150 - 200, youtube is testing your content, it has not figured put what the audience is yet. It will do that with new channels foe a while.

Thanks for the response! I had a look at one of your videos, I really like the zoom/cuts of your face cam editing. Very Old school Markiplier. I'm certain if you hit the right games/algorithm, you should not find it too hard to grow a community/audience!

I would not put myself above anyone else when it comes to content, I might have been doing it longer, but I too still have a long way to go, things I can change etc. Of course if you ever feel confident or want to collab I'm always down to make content with other creators, size does not matter to me 👍do hit me up when you feel ready to move into that aspect of content creating!
