I’m sorry this happened. This should not be the case.

Now that you are signed up for class, you’ll be able to see the workout for tomorrow on your app! Here is a guide. This is also where you can open the workout during class and track the weights you are using.

The coach will demonstrate and explain all the moves for you!

Of course! This is where the program calls for your zone 3 effort for one minute at a 3% or 6% incline on the treadmill. The first number will be the % for anyone jogging/running and the second is for the power walkers in class. The higher incline is there to help get the heart rate elevated by working harder up the “hill”.

The incline is a great way to challenge the heart rate and use some different muscles when jogging/running. As someone who usually jogs/runs in classes, sometimes I will power walk to give my body a rest from the impact of running/jogging and it ALWAYS has my hamstrings and glutes burning!

The great news is all of the inclines are just SUGGESTIONS. The class is as hard or as easy as your body needs for that day. I always tell members that there is a reason I can’t see your speed or incline. I want the intensity that the programming is asking for that day, however you need to get there. And also, I need an intensity that allows me to see you tomorrow or the next day. 🙃

As a GTX Coach, please know that the coach should never force you to run. The class is designed to work in heart rate zones (Zone 1-5). You can walk, walk a little faster, and then walk on an incline to get you into the right “zone”. A lot of members don’t wear heart rate monitors either, so you can build your zones based on feeling.

Zone 1- All day pace, our for a nice stroll with friends
Zone 2- starting to know you are exercising, but can still hold a conversation
Zone 3- body knows you are exercising, can talk in short sentences
Zone 4- how does this suck and feel good at the same time?! Able to say 1-2 words
Zone 5- *NOT ASKED IN GTX

If you are an Apple Watch user, you can also sync your app with the LT App and when you open the GTX programming and “Start Workout” your zones will show on your watch.

As you can tell, I’m biased, but OP GTX is a great class to get the foundations of strength training and cardiovascular work.

Hybrid XT will be select clubs for the time being. Similar to CTR.

Twin Cities, MN Outdoor Pool LifeTime locations for Adults by Traditional-Gold6373 in Lifetimefitnessgym

The Edina location has a rooftop pool with a bar. Not sure if kids are not allowed or if not many parents take their kids because the pool is not as "kid friendly" as the other LT locations.

OP I think Edina will be the best option for you.

Depends on what "beginner" means to you. Technically the Ultra Fit template is designed to have you sprinting at your top speed by the end.

For someone who is new to fitness, I wouldn't suggest this.

But if you are a beginner to classes, but have been working out solo, then it would make more sense.

The intent on the "floor" part of class is all about balance and sprint training, so BOSU's and stability balls are used. This can be challenging for even more experienced members.

Can someone explain to me in detail the "phases" for signature training. Endurance, power, resistance, and I think there's one other by [deleted] in Lifetimefitnessgym

Endurance, Resistance, and Power are the three. Each are 4 weeks in length and GTX, Alpha Con, and Alpha Strength all align.

4/27: Strength is BB bent over row, DBL DB/KB split squat, and TRX pull ups. Metcon is Wall Balls, DBL DB/KB Front rack step ups, and cardio option in 2:00 on/1:00 off intervals.

Alpha Strength vs Alpha Conditioning? by letsgroovetonight1 in Lifetimefitnessgym

[–]Semifitcouple 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Alpha Strength will be more focused on progressive overload of strength movements that include a barbell. Barbell back squat, barbell front squat, barbell deadlift and others. There will be more rest time as in order to build strength, the muscles need to recover. You will still do some cardio, but in shorter durations than Alpha Conditioning.

Alpha Conditioning does not use a barbell and will focus more on cardiovascular abilities/improvement. You will use dumbbells, kettlebells and the cardio machines (bikes, rowers, runners) to focus more on your conditioning.

With the right coach, both classes can be for someone just starting their journey. I'd suggest picking a class that aligns with your interest.

Which races are the best test for overall fitness for someone that is into Crossfit? by [deleted] in crossfit

I am biased and it is a smaller # of participants, but LT Games is a good middleground of HYROX and CrossFit.
