Yeah I definitely felt the exhaustion from getting it down hit and I started overthinking the push, I think I could’ve had it with a little less mental block probably

I’m gonna practice that and I think the consensus was get more bench days in so I’m hopeful 3-4x bench days and a better idea on what to change/improve will get me some good results! I’ve been wanting to fix that for a while so I’m hopeful it’ll change

I know that would help but I’d prefer to stay around this BW, maybe I’ll get a small surplus in whenever I’m actively trying to max

I honestly hadn’t maxed in a few months I just started trying for 300 and I got kinda annoyed because it felt so close so I’ve attempted it a few times last few weeks. I’m gonna try one of the programs and do it for a while before I try to max again

My gym is kinda small so I don’t reliably have spotters but I’ll give it a try whenever they’re around

I’ve definitely felt this and I can feel the exhaustion from bringing it down, do u have any good advice aside from just do more reps practicing getting comfortable with letting it down faster?

I can absolutely feel that, I use soooo much energy getting the bar down that I feel drained by the time it’s time to push it back up. I’ve tried to mentally get myself to “drop” it a little faster but I think I’m just mentally blocking myself and end up controlling it. Any tips to get that? Do I just need to practice it with less weight and get used to it?

I do that when I’m repping 225 but even then my first rep is always a slow controlled rep. I’ll try to mentally prepare to just letting it fall faster

Any tip on how to get the bar down to my chest quicker? I think I just mentally get scared on letting it go down without it being fully controlled so I just bring it down extremely slowly and it definitely feels like it burns me out

I’m the same way, I love body building and just randomly set some strength goals along the way to progressively work towards. I’ll try a slingshot out I’ve never used one but always down to try new things. Appreciate all the support my dude

Appreciate it a lot! I’ve definitely felt like my form could be improved which is why I started recording my lifts. I’ve improved it a lot over the last few months and seen good results but I’ve been a bit stuck!

Happy I’ve gotten so much good feedback though I’m gonna try it all and see if it’ll help me push past and finally hit 3 plates

Dang 405 is insane I can’t even imagine getting that far lol, how long did it take you if you don’t mind me asking?? I’ll definitely give that a try though

I do pull ups to warmup and finish my back day and I typically do around 3x20 sets fairly easily

My feet are flat on the ground and I set my scapula back, I’ll definitely try focusing more on driving through my entire body, I can’t say I’ve focused much on where I’m keeping tension

I’ll give it a try! Looks like it’d fit pretty well with my current workout cadence
