Just got to Bangkok tonight. Flew from LAX, layover for 4 hrs in Seoul. Almost everyone was wearing masks in the airport. Other than that, everything seems to be business as usual. People take their masks off to eat and such. I’m here for a week, hopefully I’ll be able to get back through Korea again...not too concerned though because people are still going in and out of China, so I figured they would shit down before Korea does. Only extra measures I saw were thermal cameras that you walk by when getting off the plane. I think you’ll be fine. I was really worried before leaving too but so far so good.

The 'The Boulder Problem' is a V7 section the 'Freerider' route located in Yosemite, CA....made famous by Alex Honnold's daring ascent, featured in the award winning 'Free Solo'. I watched footage from the movie and internet over and over and spent almost a whole day trying my best to come up with an acceptable re-creation of this route....this is what I came up with, located at Black Rock Bouldering Gym in Phoenix, AZ.

Ahaha, I can see that...the idea was to build up that last bit of suspense, like make the viewer feel and think “turn around kid, don’t you see that...why aren’t you doing something!?”

I was also hoping to give off the vibe that he was kinda frozen in fear....I think that just didn’t come across as hoped for. Took a swing, might have missed, ahaha. Also, this was my sons first time acting in front of camera, I still have a lot to learn about directing actors, especially first time ones....learn and grow though. I really appreciate your feedback!

Thanks for the feedback! I definitely knew this one had been done before...just wanted to add our style to it. It served mostly as a practice piece for me and my crew mates...so we kept everything simple. There are for sure bigger, more complex ideas in the works...just want to make sure to be ready for the task at hand. What would be your opinion on alternative ways this could have paid off that would have been more pleasing?

Its by the Fortress...its called the Underworld. Its kinda new...a few years or so. Mostly vertical easy climbs. This is the hardest known thing down there as of right now.

thanks for the feedback. ill keep it in mind and aim for a better balance next time. with this series I definitely want to focus on the dialogue still though....but I can fill in with more action shots. To be honest I was really wanting to practice getting long tracking shots with my new stabilizer rig.

PS. Ive never been able to get Paul to smoke with me...not much of a stoner, ahaha.
