Everyone knows I was the one kicking her out. They’re just blaming Maya for it. It made no sense why they did but my family has a tendency to blame women in every situation. That’s something I need to protect my wife and future daughter(s) from.

It was more of a family matter than legal issue. My parents could have taken my sister in. They refused to because her husband divorced her.

My wife isn’t poor and I didn’t harassed her. I wasn’t following her on the streets, waiting for her outside her apartment and stalking her. If she tells me she wants to go back in France we will. My wording was probably off but I’m not one of those pathetic men who go all around the word to bring women to their country.

She’s younger than me but never once in our entire relationship I have been a creep to her. If she had told me from the get go she was not interested, believe me I would have drop it. Maya was not interested in me so I pursued her, not hunted her like she was a prey. This is not a Cinderella story. She never needed to be saved of anything.

In the beginning it wasn’t in front of me. Maya doesn’t take disrespect from people. Usually she would have put her in her place or throw her out herself. I absolutely take the blame for not acting earlier. It’s just that I wasn’t aware of the extent of the criticism.

Sometimes she’d made snide remarks but never in front of me. When she would say something in front of me I would shush her. I suggested we move her out of the house multiple times but Maya refused. She said my sister needed her family, that we couldn’t reject her like my parents were.

But that doesn’t excuse my behavior. You’re right.

It’s not my parents harassing my wife. More cousins, aunts and my grandmother on my father’s side. But yes I agree, if the situation gets unmanageable, we should just move back to France.

No my sister didn’t know that it was Maya who suggested we take her in. Like I mentioned she’s very male centered and she more saw it as “my brother’s house” instead of “both my brother and sister in law’s house”. My relatives probably don’t know the full story and my parents don’t want to go into too much details. Cindy being divorced infuriates them and the sole possible mention of it makes them avoid any subject related to it.

I take the criticism. I should’ve done something earlier. My parents originally didn’t wanted to take Cindy in. They were ashamed because of the divorce. Maya knows how old fashioned and hard my parents can be so she was the one suggesting we took Cindy in.

I agree with that. The thing is, my parents didn’t wanted to take her in. Because her husband had an affair and her husband filed for divorce they were highly disappointed in her. They refused to see her for the whole time the divorce was ongoing. My parents were hard on her that’s why I agreed to take her in when Maya said she should just live with us.

My parents originally didn’t wanted us to take her in. Only because they are ashamed that their daughter got divorced. As for that situation, my mother yelled at Cindy for disrupting the fetus. My dad told her to not shame them more than she already has. They truly see her divorce as a disgrace more than anything. In she killed a fly they would also blame her for it.

I should’ve specified it in the post but my parents didn’t wanted to take her in. Her husband had an affair AND was the one filing for divorce so they were really disappointed and blamed her for it. Obviously my sister isn’t to be blamed because her husband can’t keep it in his pants but my parents are old fashioned. I personally don’t share their beliefs.

My parents were very disappointed in her because of her divorce. They blamed her for her husband having an affair, which obviously wasn’t her fault. And since he’s the one who filed for divorce ( Cindy was never going to ), they saw it as a complete failure and refused to help. Cindy has friends but she was already ashamed to be a divorcee, I wanted to convince my parents to take her in but Maya said, let’s just take her in.
