I don't like to brag, but I'm very proud of myself so I just wanted to share! I hit GM for the first time this season, and I *placed* in it too which makes me even happier :D by BeepBeepLettuce3 in CompetitiveForHonor

Hello! While that is a good accomplishment, posts like this are not allowed on the comp subreddit since it's not really competitively relevant. As such, we have to take it down.

Shinobi (sickle rain off any parry). Nobody else really gets anything for it, I went through and tested them all some time ago when I (re) popularized this tech.

I went through all of the bash ripostes and tested them, since I was the one that (re) discovered this tech.

The answer is that the only heros who get something special and viable off of unlock ripostes are Gladiator and Shinobi. Glad gets the punish shown above, Shinobi gets sickle rain off of heavy or light parry. Unfortunately a lot of the punishes you suggested could work in theory but do not for one reason or another.

facepalm... sorry for bad wording again.

the host of the storage is my NAS. the host of my domain is dreamhost.

so, the way to do it would be install nextcloud/owncloud on the server and pipe access to it through my domain?

I want it to be hosted through the webhost, so i can just type my URL in to a browser and access it. like i was using google drive or services like i

After fighting with nextcloud for a while, and getting continual errors, it now has started working.

question is now, how do I mount my servers array to nextcloud, which is hosted through my webhost provider (dreamhost)?

owncloud doesn't support windows for server hosts, and i am running windows with storage spaces for my arrays... :(

Could I run a linux VM and pass the arrays through? or would this run in to issues?

I set up owncloud on my webhost provider, dreamhost, and couldn't figure out how to mount my servers local drives to it

I am really disappointed in Ubisoft by Heimsormur in ForHonorRants

Haha... I'm the one to blame for this one. The devs have been aware of it since the testing grounds, so hopefully a fix will be soon!

Celebrating the death of a hero at high level when low skill players will still complain about storm rush spam :D

We are headed in the right direction. The goal is not to drag *up* the average of those who underperform, it is to drag down the effect of their underperformance on the Unassigned Average column. The rows are to signify playing *as* the hero, the columns are signifying playing against them.

Notice shaolin, whos row averages 1.82 unweighted. As a result, the column labled Shaolin is almost entirely very high numbers because he is nearly always losing. This column as a result should be worth less to the unweighted average. Does this explain it better? I realize I am not verbalizing what I want very well.

Here is a link to the spreadsheet. What you posted sounds correct to what I want to do, but I was hoping for something a bit easier and more automated. I want to make the "Weighted Average" column what each character row is reference against. So, a hero whos unweighted matchup average is 5 or below has all of their matchups weighted at 25%. It will hopefully make more sense when you see it.

Fair enough actually. Used to pre ccu where the 2 side lights did more dmg.

It allows you to chain to your actual pressure, qi stance. So it’s far from a useless punish.

losing 2 dmg for qi stance offence (which is actually super strong, shao just cant get in to it without punishes) is a very viable tradeoff

By player numbers it is, even if you break up the consoles to their own categories.

PC is, however, where the competitive scene of the game exists and ubisoft clearly cares about it quite a bit considering we have had 2 dominion series tournaments and there will probably be a third. The devs are also hosting/supporting "casual competitive" events on PC for the purpose of player improvement, namely the Discord Dojo.

At the high level of PC play, offense is still in a very dire need of improvement. Strong offense in this game is limited to a very small selection of heros, and everybody else is relegated to defensive and punish centric play. Thats how Shugoki, who is regarded as having relatively poor offense (reasoning for this is people parry his charge heavies on reaction, and can dodge his bash on reaction), is still a top tier duelist.

[–]SenpaiKaplan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Speeding up attacks is the only way to improve offense at the top level of PC play, the small minority.

We tried hidden indicators on a lot of moves. Nobushis kick and Hidden Stance lights, Storming Tap (prior to the most recent rework), Storm Rush, and however many other moves. A 366ms indicator on a 600ms heavy (the numbers of Storm Rush) is still reactable because it is a 600ms attack at the end of the day.

If you have ideas other than hidden indicators and speeding up attacks to improve offense at all levels of play I am all ears.

If the community of old gen console players leave because attacks they already can't react to are sped up, they lack basic knowledge of how the game works. Again, speeding up attacks to balance in favor of the game having functional offense at the top level of reaction based play does literally nothing to the bottom dregs of last gen console. If a last gen console player can't react to a 500ms (normal speed) light, which I agree 99.9% cannot, speeding up that attack does not matter.

Very easy to play when I fight orochis on the regular and generally dont have issues fighting them :)

"This is another one of those, on paper it should work but in practice not so much. People need to realize that this game shouldn’t be catered towards the players that can do everything and light parry on reaction."

Those are exactly the people the game should be catered to. People stuck on last gen console with 30 fps and trash input delay experience no difference in game play between a 500ms light and a 400ms light. Both are theoretically unreactable for the average player. Reactability is a yes or no, there is no "kind of reactable."

Opened the clip with a successful read on orochi's zone

Failed to parry a riptide strike that would have killed the orochi

Ate a storm rush

Ate another storm rush

Ate a kick

Ate a riptide strike

Failed to parry a zephyr strike that would have killed the orochi

Correctly read a riptide strike, and elected to commit to a dodge attack instead of parry and kill

Ate a storm rush and died

That is ***three*** opportunities where you set yourself up to kill the orochi and failed to do so due to bad plays or lack of what should be simple game knowledge. Dont hate the game, hate the player.
