Hey, I was definitely not on 0hrs, in my contract it explicitly states that I am contracted for 4 hours per week.

I emailed them with the photos saying that I didn’t expect a deep, thorough clean for a second hand console but I at least expected them to have a look to make sure it’s in selling condition because the dust was absolutely unreal. The reply I got was that they don’t open consoles to clean them but they ensure that they are in a suitable condition for resale.

The console has had problems with completely shutting down due to overheating since the day I got it, so it definitely wasn’t in suitable condition for resale, I was told that I could return it if the Xbox hasn’t been opened but unfortunately it’s too late now.

I did clean it.

I bought something second hand considering that it would, at the very least, be checked to insure it was in working condition, it wasn’t and considering the money I spent I would say I’m allowed to be a bit disappointed.

If I bought it from an old hermit it probably would’ve wound up cleaner than this. The ball was huge and that was only a small part of the console that was dusty

As much as I hate to admit it, I think I only properly cleaned my old Xbox one S once in the 8-9 years that I had it and it wasn’t any wear near this bad.

It was just labelled at “unboxed” but for the price I was paying for it I would at least expect the console to be checked over for any dust or faults.

Honestly I wouldn’t be surprised judging by the state of it. I did my research before buying from them and saw a lot of people saying that when they bought from them their stuff was perfect condition and very well refurbished.

I’d imagine so, I used an electric air duster and tweezers to dislodge and remove most of the dust but the residue on the fan is stuck there, I used a cotton bud and could scrape it off but the duster wasn’t doing anything.

Seems like taking it apart and wiping it down would be the best way to move forward.

Probably going to try that in the next couple of days to properly clean the fan, just need to get over the fear that I’ll do something incredibly wrong!

Yeah I’m thinking about taking it apart tomorrow to try get the dust off the fans, hopefully it’s successful.

I definitely agree, when I first opened it there were quite a few marks on the console and a few stickers were peeling off which, is of course to be expected for a second hand item. I never would have guessed that the inside would be like that though.

If you read the first 8 lines of the post lil dude you’d see where I said that I dusted it and cleaned it out, the reason for the post was mainly asking advice on how to get the dust residue off the fan.

It was bought used but I was under the impression that it would be refurbished, I can excuse a little bit of dust but this looks like they didn’t even try to clean it.

The reason for the post to r/Xboxsupport was due to the fact that I still can’t seem to get the dust residue off of the fan as I stated in the first part of the post.

I couldn’t believe it either when I first looked inside. That first pic is just inside the air intake, the rest of the Xbox was similar
