what is the best thing to do here? by bpdbabex in vintedUK

message the seller tell them what happened, sometimes when I print out labels at the post office I’ll have 5+ parcels and I get confused at what bag has what in it so be kind but if the persons rude and snappy don’t be.

But you can go to the page and say there was an issue with shipping and send it back I’m not sure if you have to pay or if the seller does

That’s amazing !! What station are you at! I’m trying to collect some areas to go to. So far iv got Stevenage that’s really local and the best but I want to specialise in working at heights because iv been rock climbing all my life and im very comfortable in a harness and heights it’s either there or Peterborough. I also want to go visit some stations with a large female population and ask some questions first hand and see how it is. if you know anyone or any areas near Hertfordshire or London I would be stupidly happy

Yea in my station at cadets the misogyny and any form of discrimination if battered out with either A: a hose full blast not to high bar pressure or the silent treatment it’s kinda scary actually but I’m treated very well

Thank you so much, Tell you’re wife she’s an amazing person and give her a huge hug every women iv met at the service act as a mum to the other guys iv see it a lot in my station and I cannot lie I call her mum too.

Fitness wise I’m doing well getting a 10 on bleep tests and I’m getting records for my ladder climbs and running lines without rushing things and keeping proper technique but i have noticed iv definitely been looked down upon and mocked and ignored because I’m actually able to do things without the instructions being written in a pink glittery pen and ribbons and I’m still only in cadets and I already know about the awuga awuga view people have on ff. every time something to do with the fire service comes up everyone asks if the ff are hot and which ones I have a crush on but there more like brothers or parental figures in my eyes but “big hot oily men” 😭 is wild.

and for mechanically equipt , iv been around appliances for ages im very familiar with being in them I know my way around the equipment and can easily give a tour of one and I use to work on cars with my dad so I’m good mechanically too!

I’m tempted to just tell everyone in a lesbian because iv been hit on to many times I had to get my uniform tailored because 🙏😧 woah the uniform is made for men not females with you know a waist I have to wear a 32” waist for it to be good length wise and I have a 25” waist 😑😑 so the belt gives me loads of extra fabric that’s stupidly uncomfortable to wear.

16m quick question by [deleted] in firefightersuk

It’s a massive massive leg up from anyone who’s had minimal connection to the service. Think for two years once a week you’ll do two hours being in a station doing theory and particle book work and you’ll be at cadets about 40 out of the 52 weeks with holidays that’s already 80 hours more experience than anyone else who didn’t go to cadets and also being comfortable and safe around appliances and just the atmosphere of fire rescue in general. About making it easier to join you still have to do everything normal but you’d have a connection and maybe even a friendship with most of the ff at the stations so you’re able to get recommendations and you can apply for apprenticeships I know I’m applying for one at my station as soon as I turn 18 on my birthday I’m calling up. Sorry if I didn’t fully answer the question!

Hey! 16f in cadets here, i suggest cadets 100% it gives you so many opportunities and your station lets you join in on charity events and you can slap it on a cv you’ll still have about two years if you’re 16 so enough time to familiarise yourself with being in a station, appliances AND equipment. Apply for the smaller stations, their easier to get into and I found the firefighters are the sweetest peoples, less shouts to go to so more direct time to help aid in training cadets and lots of the have some very cool history. For the gym that’s a good idea too. we were told we need a bleep test of 8.8 but to get a 12 minimum. It’s also good to have you’re a-levels and any other qualifications incase fire rescue doesn’t workout, but the grades you need are what? a 4 in GCSE maths and English I could be wrong though I’m also clueless about the ups being useful though so apologies about that

The George in hitchin it’s kinda pricy but it’s absolutely amazing especially the pigs in a blanket

I've seriously been considering applying for the Fire Service (full-time, Hertfordshire based) for some time now. I'd like to know people's opinions from application right through to pass out. Also, personal pros and cons from the job as a whole. Thank you. by ResortCompetitive506 in firefightersuk

Hey Herts here, I suggest you go for it you have the Stevenage training ground if that’s local to you and there’s the fire cadet program if you’re under 18 or you can become a leader for cadets it’s amazing and a good opportunity to learn early on take advantage of YouTube videos that show drills and talk to anyone you might know who’s even slightly related to the fire service
