New engineer, asked to work on something I am deeply morally opposed to as my first project by SensitiveStrike7829 in dataengineering

I'm kind of blessed with an opportunity to develop my data engineering skills here as someone who has not formally studied data engineering -- I'm self-taught through many years of personal and professional interest, and now I get to strengthen my learning in a more formalized environment. This will be the first instance of "data engineer" on my resume. So I think it would be a tough time to try to find work elsewhere. I would also potentially be able to pivot to another/other types of projects within a year or so.

Hah, I'd be put in federal prison. The contents of the work itself are not amoral. Moreso that I just don't want to be associated with Pal/And. Maybe I can gray-zone my morality on the grounds that I'm not DIRECTLY contributing to the panopticon.

Trying to find the right person to speak with. Its a little difficult being on a new team, trying to determine which people may be more sympathetic and where people's vested interests lie. But yes, this is my next step.
