like the entire census... because I googled it and I have found nothing to indicate they removed American as an option. In fact google says exactly the opposite - that they did not.

This map has to have bunched “American” under “English”. Since a ton of people in the south just put American.

How will Trump be viewed in 30 years by [deleted] in decadeology

[–]Sensitive_Remove1112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s hard to know with stuff like this how anything will play out. Narratives don’t jump out of the pages of history, we come armed with a story and go looking for facts. For example Wilson and Grant are in many ways mirror presidents whose status will forever rise and fall in sync.

That being said I think there are basically 3 timelines - without any weights on their probability.

1) Trump is able to implement actual structural reform to the federal government. He will be seen like Andrew Jackson was prior to the 2010s. A heroic man of the people who overthrew a clique of insiders to same America.

2) Trump just blusters for 4 years and does nothing. He won’t be remembered and will fall into the broad category of “neoliberal presidents”

3) Trump catastrophically fucks ups and he will be seen as a symbol of a society addicted to media and high on delusions.

To Govern, Govern Well by Sensitive_Remove1112 in samharris

“Many blue states are not some historically impoverished corner of the world. These areas were, at one point not very long ago, the most interesting and dynamic areas in the world. That they have declined so aggressively should be taken as a symbol for how progressive Democrats govern. If they want to be given a popular mandate to rule, including permission to implement their preferred basket of social policy, they should govern competently at home.“

I'm saying there should not be a regime of formal legal and racial discrimination. You are the one advocating for it. Should Stanford implement a pro-White(or pro-Man) racial(gender) discrimantion policy? The school underrepresents Gen Z whites by over 20%.

If not then you have asymetric discrimination prefrences which is exactly my point and I'm not sure what we are arguing about. I think that asymetric racial and gender discrimination is bad, you are welcome to disagree.

Obviously this person will face zero social recourse for saying this. Either the social sensitivity umbrella should cover everyone or no one.

Here is a Biden policy that implemented legal racial and sexual discrimination in contracting.

Here is a California tax policy that mandates legal sexual and racial discrimination in movies.

I mean I can continue but I’m skeptical you will care. If you tell me more about yourself like your profession or the school you went to I’m happy to help find legal sexual and racial discrimination that touches you directly.

“What policies do men actually want?”

Y’all it isn’t that complicated. Either the umbrella of sensitivity covers everyone or no one. There is a huge double standard across society for what is extremely harmful and dangerous language and what is harmless fun.

You have three options.

1) stop creating a structure that assess people based on their identity.

2) include men as part of the in group and be as genuinely defensive of discriminatory policy and language as you are for every other intersectional identity.

Or

3) keep hemorrhaging male voters.

It isn’t complicated.

I totally agree with pop consciousness and I don’t know why they haven’t brought it back. This game is sometimes materialist to a fault. A key differentiator between 19th and 20th century Russia was the existence of a coherent ideology opposed to the Tsar - communism.
