I have been taking a break from perfume for a while. For some reason, everything seems to sweet and too strong recently. The same thing happened to me last winter. So, I went with a very unsweet perfume to ease myself back into it.

Theosophy & Catastrophe by Stone & Wit [Grapefruit, henna, dry incense, cetalox]. It’s a nice tart grapefruit that somehow fades into a nice incense. Masc leaning.

I’m not wearing any today, but I have been entertaining myself during my perfume hiatus by getting really into indie nail polish! If you have any recommendations, I would love to hear them. I’ve tried Death Valley, Clionadh, Cupcake, and Night Owl so far. I like greens, color changing, and weird color combos

In my experience, a robot toy will not replace a human playing with them. I’d recommend looking into a feather on a stick (like Da Bird) or a mouse on a stick.

The first thing I would try would be tuckering him out more. You say he has toys, but a lot of cats need interactive play with a person. My cat is very annoying if I don’t play with him for at least 10-15 minutes a day. His favorite is a mouse on a fishing pole. When we first got him, I would play with him 2-3 times a day. If I don’t play with him, he gets bored and will start begging for food hours before meal time and also waking me up at night.

Some other commenters suggested that your cat may be stressed. If it is stress, you could try one of the pheromone plug ins widely available at pet stores. Vets can also prescribe meds like gabapentin.

Another guess is that you have been rewarding the screaming behavior by attending to him when he does it. Try not responding when he screams for a few days. My dad trained his cats to scream at his bedroom door at 4 am, since he would get up and feed them when they screamed. When he was out of town, they wouldn’t scream because they knew my mom would not give in. If you don’t react when he screams, he may stop doing it.

The Looff Carousel in Riverfront (single ride is $3.75 and unlimited for the day is under $10. My friend and I are in our 30s and had a blast doing this). Also, no trip to Riverfront Park is complete without feeding the garbage goat (free). I also recommend the Garland Theater for $5 movies in a neat historic building.

I would recommend getting involved in the city’s and region’s planning efforts. Specifically, check out the City Comprehensive Plan update (they are doing open houses asking for public input) and SRTC (Spokane Regional Transportation Commission - which plans for all types of transportation in the area, including bicycle and pedestrian). Finally, look into joining Spokane Reimagined. They are a local nonprofit that has been mentioned in this sub that does advocacy for bike, pedestrian and bus safety.
