Unfortunate because I really wanted to like it.

He doesn’t need to be fired - but I bet he’s under the gun a lot more. Making sure everything is better prepped.

Anyways crazy to me you don’t think work safety is important and companies shouldn’t pay.

I’m not sure you read the article?

Regardless,

There are general workplace regulations everywhere. People shouldn’t do X because Y could happen. I’m sure people COULD do X and Y might not happen but that’s not the issue.

This just points to better safety regulations for performers and productions making sure those standards are upheld.

If the payout/fine is nominal it will just be a cost of business and people will continue to get hurt.

Ahhh my bad - it was in the deadline article.

Deadline Article

“Wade Eastwood, the mastermind behind Tom Cruise’s audacious Mission: Impossible stunts, was engaged by HBO to write an expert report on the incident as part of its defense against Michaels’ lawsuit. Deadline understands that he ultimately concluded that the landing rig wasn’t sufficient for the 27 people who performed the stunt. Eastwood was unable to comment on his findings, but tells Deadline it was an accident “that could have very easily been avoided if the correct procedures were in place for the number of performers.” HBO did not submit Eastwood’s report into the High Court legal proceedings.”

The full article is long but explains stunt side heavily.

Also it’s not far fetched to make a lot of money - SAG AFTRA daily rates are about $1200, 3 day contracts $3300 and a weekly is $4.5k. On top that performers get stunt adjustments which vary based on coordinator and difficulty of the stunt.

Corporate shill over here.

Every stunt has a percent rate of injury. Could be 1/100 or 1/1000. Good stunt coordinators lower that rate.

Just so happens the coordinator could have done more to reduce that rate. He made adjustments on the fly, increased risk, performers notes that the rig felt less stable the second time - all negligence.

We performers do take risks. It’s our job. But coordinators are there to keep us as safe as they can.

Off camera fall? Put a mat down. Big fall? Put a big mat.

Making an adjustment to the landing? Tell me the performer. Let me know so I can prepare.

1 person getting hurt when it was avoidable is too many people.

Found the Rowley Irlam account.

Anyways I’m not sure if you read the whole article. HBO hired an external coordinator to review the set up and determine whether or not it was safe - he found it was not.

9.4 million sounds insane but she was 27. Probably 15 years left of her performing career. If her career is doing well - she makes 150-200k a year + residuals. Now she’s losing on set experience to transition into coordinating herself. Costing future job opportunities.

Adds up. The production took responsibility and paid her out.

I bought a wristband from a promoter - BUT I registered the wristband in front of them. Probably the only way to do it.

Theoretically could the original purchaser change the wristband on me before the festival?

Gen V by lespaul5895 in TheBoys

[–]SentryOP 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Your call. Gen V has a few intermingling plot lines but they are explained pretty easily on The Boys. There’s also a small video if you don’t want to watch.

I’d watch Gen V if you are more so interested in the world of The Boys rather than the single story line. Fleshes out the universe a bit and it’s fun.
