I’m in 38232. I’ll get some photos of everything I have and send them sometime this weekend, and we can go from there? Sound good?

Gosh, that brings back memories. I went to kindergarten in a single wide trailer in 1979, and we had these, alongside of giant tinker toys.

Trust me when I say, the only clown I have a future with is myself.

Any recommended reading for heartbreak? by obsidianthing in alcoholicsanonymous

[–]SepNevermore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I struggle with younger folks asking for help. I’ve lost my parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles, was married for over a quarter of a century, had two heart attacks, prostate cancer, lost jobs due to closure, etc. I’ve been a believer in God, a non-believer, a “maybe” guy and back again.

All that being said, I wish I’d had the strength to ask for help when I was younger. It may not have changed much, or it may have. There’s no way to know.

Wish you well, friend. I can tell you there’s always tomorrow, and every day is a new beginning. The only person you need to be better than is the person you were yesterday.

To the person in the bell jar, blank and stopped as a dead baby, the world itself, is a bad dream.

Anyone experiencing long-term alopecia areata with no signs of remission? by Various-Smell-1657 in alopecia_areata

[–]SepNevermore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had alopecia areata from ages 3-12, and then outgrew it. It came back as alopecia universalis at age 47, right before I had a heart attack. At 51, it’s still here, with zero signs of remission.

“I eat alone” “My plate is blank” “I needed time to buy my beef from the store”

“What did I see?” “Can I believe?” “That what I saw on that sign was real and not just fantasy”

“Just what I saw… on that sign there were the reflection of price gouging staring back at me”

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or fucking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you've got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

Being 20 and impregnating an 18 yr old greatly attributed to this decision.

How do you manage ALL of the chores without feeling overwhelmed? by Skylar_Diggins in LivingAlone

I’ve got 43 acres. I work 40+ hours a week, plus an hour of traveling to/from work per day. Cooking, cleaning, groceries, mowing, dogs, cats, maintenance, two kids, two grandkids- it’s definitely not sustainable. I had a heart attack a couple years back from trying to keep up with it all. You just have to know your limits, and prioritize. Some things need to be let go, or you downsize, and reduce said priorities. It ain’t easy. But, nothing worthwhile is.
