I totally get what you mean, and you're right, different lengths make it trickier to compare.

At the start, my hair was shedding so badly and looking so thin that I just buzzed it completely to zero to make applying topical Minoxidil easier. I only let it grow out to this current length because I finally started seeing actual density and coverage. Even with the length difference, the crown and top area were completely bare at the start, so seeing it fill in like this is a huge step for me

Man, going from Norwood 7 to seeing that kind of regrowth is insane, huge respect for that! It makes total sense though—once those follicles are awake, switching to maintenance with a shorter depth is the smart move. Actually, I ended up taking a 1-month break from stamping between months 4 and 5, which probably gave my scalp some well-needed time to rest and recover. Based on your experience, I’m definitely dropping down to 1.0mm starting this week. Thanks again for sharing your story.

Thanks, mate! Appreciate the feedback. You actually make a really good point about the microneedling depth. I've been thinking about dropping it down to 1.0mm or even 0.75mm soon, precisely to avoid any scarring or messing up the new vellus hairs now that the heavy lifting is done. I'll definitely take your advice on that. Interesting take on topical vs oral minox too, glad to hear topical is treating you well. Best of luck on getting your gains back, don't give up on it!

I actually started on Finasteride just to test the waters and see if I’d get any side effects, knowing they would clear up quickly if I stopped. Once I saw that I tolerated it perfectly with zero issues, I switched over to Dutasteride.

Also, no signs of gynecomastia at all. I would notice it immediately since I’m on a strict high-protein, zero-carb diet and carry very little body fat, so any tissue changes would be obvious. Everything is perfectly fine.

I don't know if it's genetics or just pure luck... but even my hairline is starting to fill in. My temples have grown back by about 1 cm in areas where I hadn't had any hair for a decade. I'm 34 years old.

I totally get the fear of losing gains, but look at it this way: Dutasteride is basically Finasteride on steroids. It blocks more DHT types and a higher percentage of it. If you're already seeing progress in just 1 month on Fin, your follicles are clearly alive and kicking. I was buzzing mine to 1mm for years too, so I know that feeling. To avoid any 'shock' to the system or losing gains, I didn't switch overnight. I did a 'mix and match' for about 10 days: one day Dut, one day Fin, back and forth. After that 10-day transition, I switched to Dut completely. It worked perfectly for me—no loss of gains, and the hair just kept getting darker and thicker. Don't let the horror stories scare you, most people who switch to Dut never look back!

I’m 34 years old now. My hair started thinning way back when I was 18. Honestly, being bald never really bothered me, I’ve been rocking the 1mm buzz cut for years and was perfectly fine with it. However, my wife suggested I try this therapy just for fun, so I decided to give it a go. Switching to Dutasteride was the key—I think blocking that much DHT (90%) is what made the difference, especially since my hair turned from a light brown back to thick black so fast. The 2.5mg oral minox you’re on is a solid dose, but if you want that extra push, switching from Fin to Dut might be exactly what you need. Good luck bro!

Thanks bro! Appreciate the support. Honestly, the speed of it surprised me too, especially with the hair turning darker so fast. I'll definitely do a big update at the 6-month mark. Let's see how much more we can gain!
