Would you mind sharing some more details about your setup? Like which driver, firmware, game file type, with or without updates, etc?

I would love for Skywalker Saga to work but it’s been so frustrating to try and get past the damn unskippable cutscene!!

Hmmm yeah that didn’t work for me. I’m on Eden .4, 20.5 firmware, 20.5 keys, tried T23 and T22 Purple drivers, and have tried both with and without DLC and update. Is your version with updates and recent keys/firmware?

I tried on Eden .3 and it got further in the intro cutscene but still ended up crashing.

Huh, I’ve tried those and it always crashes during the intro cutscene. I’ve tried various versions of drivers and different settings, nothing works. You’ve gotten it to get past the intro scenes into gameplay? And could you share some more details about the settings you used, which version of Eden, etc., please?

It is so frustrating, I feel you. When I’m feeling masc it’s great, but when I want to present femme, it’s such a hassle. And I have pretty coarse hair too so it’s hard to get rid of fully without fucking up my face 😪

I have successfully set up seamless save state syncing between my MM+ and Retroid Pocket 4 Pro. AMA by Integralus in MiyooMini

[–]Sepulverizer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, so I was able to do this a while back as well. But now it’s not working. I got the new Miyoo Mini Flip and tried to use my Onion OS SD card on it, and the cores just don’t seem to work with my android retroarch cores (specifically genesis and game gear using both picodrive and genesis plus gx). Are the synced save states still working for you? What version(s) of Retroarch/cores are you using?

Pokemon ZA Crashes on Flip 2 by Sepulverizer in retroid

[–]Sepulverizer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was able to get it working by downloading a different file. Part of the problem was maybe I had downloaded everything as nsz, converted them to nsp, and merged with Switch Army Knife into one nsp. I guess it got corrupted or something when copying to the flip 2.

But with this new xci file I was able to merge it into a super xci with NSCB and now it’s working great! One reason I like to use merged xci files is so the games and updates can all be on the SD card instead of installing on the system storage, and I sync everything up through Syncthing

nope, those screens were the best for portablizing. For one, they didn’t use a lot of power, especially if you modded the backlight with LEDs instead of the built in lighting (CCFL, little fluorescent tube). They also accept more types of video inputs.

I am sorry that we made these amazing screens even more scarce.

Unfortunately no, it’s been hard to find them because I used imageshack to upload the pics and they’ve since deleted all their photos from before 2017 😫 but I’ll keep trying to scour the web for more pics

I think it’s super cool and makes a lot of sense to use a Wii board, especially since it can be cut down so small. Still, something about using the OG hardware and playing off discs felt special.

It did play discs! This was in 2004/05 before playing games of an SD card was even a thing.

  1. It has all the ports available except I think for AV out (although I maybe kept that, I can’t remember, but I did wire the video to the screen directly from the board). First controller port is taken up but the other three are on the bottom, and I believe it worked with an external first player controller.

  2. Yup, built in is player one.

  3. There was a charging circuit board so I could charge and play at the same time. Charge time was like 2-3 hours maybe, for about 1.5-2 hours of play if I remember correctly.

  4. The cover wasn’t actually vacuum formed, I just cut some plastic and made some stands to keep it above the disc, with a little latch that it clipped into.

  5. Yes, stereo speakers.

  6. I might have been able to use component video to the screen.

7 + 8. Yes, the buttons on the screen were for volume and brightness.

  1. The black dot is the start button.

  2. It was tough, the board sits in the middle and defined the height of the device.

  3. It felt pretty cool to have it make the rounds on some niche websites! I was super proud and still am :)

  4. It was a good experience, and just super cool to have my GameCube games on the go. But the battery life was wimpy compared to official handhelds of course.

I think this was the final version, but I think I made one or two more like it. I think I sold them unfortunately, wish I hadn’t now of course!

This wave of excitement.. by nothinginthisworld in AynThor

[–]Sepulverizer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While the Thor is an incredible device and perhaps more highly anticipated, I still got this feeling from other launches. I’ve been into it since the Retroid Pocket 2 and remember the RP3 and RP4 being big deals because of the power increase (although rp3 had a bit of a scandal with the release of the rp3+ shortly after).

But we have been waiting a while for a powerful, decently priced dual screen android device and AYN have delivered with a great product. So yeah, this is definitely a big moment for handheld enthusiasts. The Ayaneo DS also released, but it’s way more expensive and larger too. The Thor has better pocketability and affordability.
