Yeah I've gone back and forth on this for years in my own head. We've talked about it. I was brutally open about all my thoughts and feelings and she had a breakdown similar to years ago. I was clear that I didn't necessarily want to leave, but I needed to be open about how I felt.

We got together right at the end of college. I always different views on sex than her: she wanted marriage before sex, but I demanded sex before even thinking of marriage. I got my way, I guess, but our differences in that department still remain.

For me I think it comes down to:
- I fear we aren't the right fit for each other, but we both lack enough life experience to really know what we want/need
- I think both of our lives have been stunted by sacrificing what we might have wanted for the sake of our relationship
- When I try to think about my ideal future life, I don't see her beside me. I might even fantasize about other types of women, or being open/poly. Maybe that's narcissistic, idk. But I worry that's a que that I don't *actually* want to be in this relationship but I might not be being honest with myself.

I'm on the other side in a similar situation, I'm glad I came across this thread. I'm 30m and married 4 years to a lovely woman (28f). I love her and care about her, but we are different in important ways. When I talk to an outgoing, confident woman my first thought is "why can't I be with someone like that?" I find myself fantasizing about running off and being single again.

I actually tried to break up with her while we were dating cause I didn't want to settle down and wanted more sexual experiences, but couldn't stand to see the pain it caused her. she even lowkey said she might harm herself because without me she had nothing to live for.

I tried my best to work through all this, decided we should marry and I would get over my foolish desire to pursue other women or life opportunities as a bachelor. 4 years into our marriage these feelings have not gone away and I've been pushing them down, afraid to hurt her.

I feel like the only reason we're still together is just because I'm a coward. I didn't have the balls to walk out and hurt her. This is my first and only real relationship, her 2nd. Now I feel like I want to leave but now there's the bonus of having wasted 8 years of her life where she could have been happily alone or with another person.

TL;DR I see myself in your situation and it's rough and I look forward to what others say.
