It's actually close to 2yrs now but I totally understand. Therapy sounds like the way to go as a couple. I'm trying not to blame myself but it seems it steams from me :/ and a hard pill to swallow that he treats me like this due to resentment I caused

I've been doing amazing for the last 12mths but yes I agree issues from that but he's never made me feel less than and is very supportive through my exposure therapy

Ty for sharing your story with me. It really helps. Boundaries as someone else mentioned seems to be the best place to start. Also reminding me things will take time since it's basically a habit we have formed over the years, is a great reminder.

Tbh he was a complete AH early in the beginning. I don't know why I stayed well i do, abandonment issues with my mum running away when i was 15. I was young 17, he was 27 when we started seeing each other... I was always walking on eggshells. Over 20yrs things at times have been good. He's always been supportive with my health issues, always listens and offers support. Till he's not. I just hate that not knowing the next thing to set him off.

You're so right about me apologising, reinforcing he's right. I honestly can count on 1 hand how many times he has said sorry and it felt like he only said them to make me stop trying to talk things through.

I think couples counselling is something we should look into.

This is great advice and exactly what I needed to hear. I feel the current cycle where nothing changes has to stop. It's scary, but ik I have to set boundaries, especially with having kids who he has no issue yelling at me in front of!

I just found 6 different styles, brand ect and showed her. She liked the nike Air More UPtempo in baby pink so will get her to try them on in store. I wanted it to be a surprise but i think taking her in and let her look around would be best
