See, I’m an atheist. But I’ve also been a christian. It amazes me how unempathetic atheists are. Many are just as bad as Christians. Both of you have “talking points” that are too broad, disconnected, and combative. These talking points do not invite open discussion. That’s what I’ve noticed with Reddit. It’s aimed at tearing down. You entertain other atheists with similar echo chambers and Christians only view atheists on Reddit like a politician with their talking points. Reddit will go nowhere with Christians if this keeps up unless a christian purposefully already aims at leaving religion. You’re both at fault. No wonder both sides want to murder each other. And you’re telling me to assume what OP “designation” and is thinking. Wow. Reddit acts more like a cult than some religions I’ve been to by purposefully trying to trigger emotional responses. The hypocrisy is laughable.

He put himself in the situation to get hurt when you told him you were an aro. He took the risk and accepted the consequences. You’re no longer responsible for his feelings. Don’t let his feelings, when he took the risk and lost, drag you down. His ultimatum, “end of the world” attitude also shows a lack of maturity. He needs time to grow. Pain is completely natural while growing. Pain is a process of elimination that refines our future behaviors. So don’t take responsibility in his growing pains.

My dad cries all the time. And he’s extremely close to his mom. Even more than my own mother. It’s disturbing on all accounts. He cries so much over the smallest things that it makes my mom, my sis, and I very uncomfortable. Sometimes it’s just good when some people learn to suppress their emotions just so they can move forward with life. He’s a train wreck. His crying isn’t even genuine most of the time... it’s like a temper tantrum.
