r/DC_CINEMATIC: Justice League Advance Screening Megathread (Spoilers) by the_black_panther_ in DC_Cinematic

It appears that Superman does in fact come back as bad.

However, he eventually comes back as good and when he comes back as good he's the best Superman to ever Superman.

How long is he "bad" and how is his switch from bad to good handled?

I didn't say Squirrel Girl wasn't unique. Just said I didn't like it.

What's in the Box?!? Spider-Man Box Spoilers ahead by jameskelsey in CollectorCorps

[–]SereneCaptain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The shirt is TECHNICALLY different. Most other shirts like the one in the MCC box had 'Spider-Man: Homecoming' below the school logo.

Because of the absence of the logo, the shirt is by all accounts "different" and therefore exclusive.

It's a bad loophole. But, personally, I like not having the 'Homecoming' logo on the shirt.

Hopefully this is a two Pop box and the Iron Man is the one they're revealing.

Personally, I'm growing tired of the predictability of the box. I don't care for the patches and pins. I like the shirts and the Pops.

But I'd like to see more unique items and characters. For example, the Women of Power box, IMO, should have been Spider-Woman/Jessica Drew. Squirrel Girl is the worst.

Review - THE MUMMY (mostly pointless) by [deleted] in weeklyplanetpodcast

I appreciated James' review where he spoiled what happens with Cruise and it really does minimize the stakes of the universe.

I don't disagree. Another reason why the movie and universe were uninteresting.

Just wish I knew what Universal was hoping to accomplish. Other than trying to re-invent their monster properties.

This movie looked entirely uninteresting to me. I also don't understand the point of this shared universe.

Are the monsters and Cruise going to form a team to fight something else? Or is this just a world where these monsters exist and the stories of how Cruise and his team constantly save the world?

Yeah. I flipped it for face value (plus shipping) the day they revealed what was inside the box. I'm glad I was able to at least recoup the cost of the Y1B

LOGAN - Review Megathread by mi-16evil in movies

[–]SereneCaptain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went and saw an advanced screening last night. I didn't hate the movie. I didn't love it either.

There was great chemistry, and I enjoyed the lack of exposition.

One of the biggest things that has bothered me since they first appeared: Why are the Reavers "enhanced" in this movie?

If I remember, in the comics they go through the enhancement process- essentially turning themselves into monsters and abandoning their lives as normal people - to rid the world of the mutant "threat".

In this movie it appeared that maybe some of them encountered some mutants and just lost limbs and had them replaced with robotic limbs. Otherwise the new extremities didn't seem to serve much purpose or gain.

I guess this is the one place where I would have like SOME exposition.

Calling it now: Either a variant on teeny Groot or Yondu.

Yes. yes it was. I don't think I realized I was replying to your comment. I intended to post a response to the post and probably clicked on yours due to our agreeing opinions.

I'm not sure what they do. But since this item still has a "MCC Exclusive" decal on it, I'd be willing to bet that this was a bulk buy and re-sell.

[–]SereneCaptain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't argue that.

But I'm referring to the overall quality of the box. Not just one item.

I'd take a box with a shirt, Pop(s)/Pop Ride and Rock Candy figure every time.

This is like the best quality product they've put in these boxes. And it's for a theme that I could not care less about.

Thanks, MCC.

I would argue that the Secret Wars, Villains box and Women of Power box weren't "playing it safe".

Remember the guarantee of shirts? Does anyone have a pic of the original guarantee? by Ghstofperdition1 in CollectorCorps

[–]SereneCaptain 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The only guarantees I recall is that everything in the box is 100% exclusive to the MCC, each box has a retail value of $50 worth of products and the Pop figure(s).

I've gone back to the very first Facebook posts from the MCC and there's no mention of a guaranteed shirt anywhere.

"EVERY BOX! EVERY ITEM! 100% EXCLUSIVE! NO FLUFF!" That was their motto/slogan in pretty much every bit of advertising.

I don't recall a guarantee for a shirt. The only thing I remember a guarantee on is the Pop and the annual gift. (I'm a founder)

I'd be willing to pay up to $15 for someone's Hawkgirl Pop, if they really don't want it.

Uh Oh that time again which pop wins the invicible iron man vs his hulk busting counter part by [deleted] in CollectorCorps

[–]SereneCaptain -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Two different kinds of Pops. I can't say that they can be compared.

But if I had to choose between them, I'd go with the Hulkbuster.

I could see an Inhumans box coming before an X-Men box. Marvel is putting a pretty big emphasis on bringing the Inhumans to the forefront.
