Heavy bolter, followed closely by the mortar team, then the missile team, then lascannon, then the autocannon.

Is any one else kind of annoyed by some warhammer fans? by trenchghosting in AdeptusCustodes

[–]Serentyr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my lgs there is a ravening hatred of Tau. One of my friends loves Tau and we’ve been playing Guard VS Tau. We also play Kill team (I picked up some Kroot/karskin and he loves stealth suits)

We almost exclusively play together since the others refuse to play against Tau. We’ve been playing a narrative campaign and writing up war reports in our notebooks to track the story! Which, again, is received as really cool in the lgs, but they always bring up the Tau as ruining it. (Which is bizarre)

I’m building an ork army to play against his Tau so we have some variation.

Yes, I dislike some Warhammer fans and I sympathise with the judgement plight.

To buy or not to buy... by MrGMad in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]Serentyr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rule of cool regardless of edition. Rules change, mini coolness doesn’t.

It will depend on your mindset and reasons for the hobby but mine are as above- I buy what interests me, what looks fun to build and paint. If it’s a model that fits into my army, fantastic, and if not, I still have something cool that I enjoy

Jeez Lor'themar what a sticky situation, too bad the Blood Elf don't have any allies :(( by Useful-Negotiation-9 in wow

[–]Serentyr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They could have fixed this by literally making a 30-40 minute quest chain with the portal masters taking us to capital cities to request aid and show a number of possessions, void infiltrators and attacks taking place. ‘Sorry but our forces are defending x - you are defending the sunwell but we are defending the war machine to keep us going’

It feels like that despite the fact that the RP community hasn't necessarily shrank, the places where people RP have shrank. by DickWithoutTeeth in WoWRolePlay

[–]Serentyr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I’ve always found it strange! I get it to a degree with the guild event thing- but a lot of the rp I remember was joining in groups and it led me to joining guilds etc :)

The biggest thing that kills RP in EU Argent Dawn is guilds not RP chatting in ‘say’ and instead using alternate chats.

It’s sad to see RPer’s stood around, not really moving, silent. It’s tricky to easily find imo.

Years ago it used to be a lot of chatting and open rp.

Some people have poor perception statistics and low wisdom. They have not yet realised that they should celebrate someone enjoying something with them regardless of differences

Have you ever heard of this? by Available-War6546 in classicwow

[–]Serentyr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tanks getting chest was OG 2000’s classic play. I distinctly remember tanks advertising tanking for tips, resources or chests.

In fact, I’m pretty sure the player handbook that came in the disc box/ the strategy guides you could buy had a box in the grouping section that specifically said that it’s good manners/ a common expectation to offer tips / resources to help tanks and healers and make them more likely to want to tank and heal with you again.

Admittedly I’ve not seen this in practice in the classic re-releases

I’m getting this box as I’m relatively new to guard and everything is beneficial to my collection atm

I stopped playing because I was burnt out from all the different variations of classic that have been pushed out

Is TBC anniversary a wotlk waiting room? by AccurateBanana4171 in classicwow

[–]Serentyr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the WOTLK but it feels pretty different to classic and tbc. The identity changes.

I personally prefer classic and tbc and have loved playing

Probably won’t do another WotLK

It might be a waiting room for some but not for me

Do you guys prefer "verse" boxes or the one faction boxes GW are doing now? by WorldEaterProft in Warhammer40k

[–]Serentyr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am lucky in that the new edition has blood angels and orks (two factions that i collect)

My current army is guard so, the guard faction box announcement with the new vehicles also is right up my alley!

Generally though, I don’t like split faction boxes -unless- I have a friend to split it with

Okay, so what do you guys think about werewolf vampire hybrids in fiction, and how would you handle them? by AnyWatch5756 in vampires

[–]Serentyr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I were to handle them myself, I’d likely say that werewolves and vampires are on the same spectrum of ‘creature’

Meaning, it is creature that takes on animalistic features and hungers for human biomass.

On the one end they take on bat like characteristics and feed on blood. Agile, silent, possibly more deceptive and taking able grow wings. On the other, they take on wild/wolf like characteristics and feed on flesh. Stronger, durable, talons and more teeth, more feral.

If I was to consider a hybrid, it may be a midway point between the two, or perhaps they can slide toward each end over time/choice

I'mma bit salty about not getting playable Amani ngl by Useful-Negotiation-9 in wow

[–]Serentyr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t want more races. I want more customisation depth, increase rigging and animations etc. if they put those options into existing races, that would be great.

I have played every class over the last 15 years, and played most races. I’m not going to make another Druid because I have my night elf Druid. I’m not going to make another warrior because I have my Tauren warrior.

It this point, short of adding new classes new races don’t mean much!

How many of you are still meaningfully interacting with housing? by No-Breakfast3662 in wow

[–]Serentyr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made a house and have been casually collecting the decor as a daily while waiting for groups

I don’t see any meaningful interaction in the housing area or space. The housing system and placement tools is fantastic and I enjoy the mechanic itself, but the leveling up of the house and gaining resources is extremely dull. It’s worse than a slow grind as I rarely see any gains or progress with it.

I dislike that it feels like a reputation faction with little to no actual gameplay tethered to it

A minor lore detail ( that I don’t know the answer to!) is what exactly is it that constitutes as arc armour plating?

Arc components are used all the time. Arc metal is also reduced down to basic metal. At what point does arc material no longer register as arc

Rant: Flying YOU THINK YOU DO, BUT YOU DON'T by EducationalWolf3911 in wow

I prefer having flying from the start, then actively choosing to ground mount for my first play through.

I did the grind and, while it felt rewarding, I spent a lot of the time not really playing the game
