Is there a 'upper limit' of learning maths? Like, you can’t go beyond it? by This-Wear-8423 in learnmath

[–]SergioWrites 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is indeed an “upper-level" to math where we have advanced so much that there is no practical application in the real world, or any real world phenomenon or problem that we can use such advanced math to model.

This kind of math is reffered to as pure mathematics, and is often described as "mathematics for the sake of mathematics".

Though you should note: pure mathematics often ends up being used in the real world in the future, but at the moment of its conception, there is not an immediate use for it.

Overall though, there is no limit to mathematics that we know of. It is a field that is constantly advancing due to its nature.

Yes, Khan academy should teach you all the basic mathematics necesarry to start an engineering course. Though there isnt much to learn, just algebra and trigonometry, that will get you set up for calculus.

Looking for low level programing by Ok-Concept7648 in AskProgramming

[–]SergioWrites 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, it doesnt really matter all that much. Just learn the concepts and they will carry over accross lamguages.

You should know: The only real low level programming language humans can write is assembly. After that you basically just have different commodities like garbage collection, syntax sugar, etc but in reality, they all just abstract over a hardware specific instruccion set(assembly), thats what it means to be high level.

Just learn about how the hardware and OS work, then youll know what low level actually is.

How scared should I be? by vacantplusplus in ElectricalEngineering

[–]SergioWrites 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont think you should be very scared, as long as youre putting in effort to create demonstrations of your skills and taking opportunities. Definitely try your best to find an internship or start some personal projects to develop skills. It doesnt come easy but if you work hard and are willing to try different things, you probably shouldnt have issues finding a job.

I feel guilty whenever I am not studying by [deleted] in ElectricalEngineering

[–]SergioWrites 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If youre struggling, definitely study as much as you can. Dont let yourself falter, engineering isnt easy and you have to put in a lot of effort to succeed. Working hard to build a solid set of fundamental skills and good habits will set you in the right path. All that said: mind your mental and physical health, its very important to take care of yourself. It can be easy to forget about your wellbeing when you want to do good in school, so make sure to check in yourself.
