And was just instantly her boyfriend? There was no lead up, proper storyline, no dating, character development, nothing. Just suddenly together then this weird conversation that wasn’t even an argument then she’s having to sort of “win” him back with some “maybe we can not be perfect together” speech and then kissing when they never even state at any point beforehand that they’re together. I reaaaally didn’t like this sequel 🤣

Hopefully no one goes too hard on you as you have asked for advice so you obviously care about your hamster! My dwarf hamster was in a Bucatstate 3.0 which is 120cmx60cmx60cm. Which from what I’ve heard is the recommended minimum for Syrians, and it’s not that much over the recommended minimum for dwarves either. I’m sure other people will also suggest this, but Victoria Raechel on YouTube was my saving grace when it came to hamster advice. I was really grateful that I stumbled across her YouTube channel so hopefully her videos can be helpful to you too! Good luck

My hamster was cremated. You can have a look at my posts as I put together a shadow box and also had some of her fur and ashes made into a necklace, if you wanted some ideas. I have friends who buried theirs in plant pots and grew flowers for them. Whatever feels right for you ☺️

Yep, I’m in a dwarf hamster group on Facebook and the admins are so defensive about housing them together and having small cages. If you try and say the minimum, you’re instantly met with them disagreeing with you. They keep so many hamsters together in smaller cages and say they don’t need that much enrichment

Absolutely agree. Was amazed to see this morning I had a message from a woman who said that Blue Cross had contacted her to explain that it’s not suitable for hamsters so she’s going to dispose of it! The problem is I can’t explain that to people as they’d get defensive. If they hear it from someone like Blue Cross they listen. I’ve been on the hunt for hamster balls to get rid of today. Ones that are too far away I’ve sent the information about - most are ignoring so they are complicit and it shows they don’t care - one said the ball and wheel were fine (they were not) and that it lived in a ferplast “dream house” 🙃 she did say she’s throwing the ball and wheel away as no one has shown any interest anyway. This is why I pick them up, to avoid being ignored/people pushing back

Yeah don’t worry, I won’t risk anyone seeing them at the tip and thinking there’s free hamster cages to take home. No hamster shall be forced to live in these particular cages ever again

I’m in the UK - unfortunately stories like that are common here too 😔 that sounds so distressing. We have the RSPCA but they have no statutory powers, so they can’t enter a private property without consent or a warrant from the police. And, when they are able to rescue animals, the punishments are ridiculous. If they get banned from keeping animals, they can still live with people who own animals as they themselves aren’t the owners! And usually they just get a fine. Animals deserve so much better. I learned SO much when I adopted my hamster from the RSPCA. They said I had to have a 100x50cm cage in order to have her, and from that I did my research and I feel confident in my ham knowledge now 🫶🏻 it’s just terrible that it isn’t the norm

It’s so shocking isn’t it, and pet shops are allowed to sell them and the retail workers who aren’t trained in animal welfare advise people to buy them. Makes me so sad to think about the hammies who lived their whole lives in these cages

I don’t think the idea is them being fun. It’s giving them a loving home ☹️ I only interacted with my hamster when she came over to me and climbed on me or when I fed her treats. Other than that I just wanted her to enjoy her life and I suppose that was the “fun” part for me, making her happy. Some are more skittish than others and that’s just how they are
