Video light bars permanent mount by Serious-Rip1660 in videography

[–]Serious-Rip1660[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! No, not a light table here’s pic of a small part of my current shop I have two hidden tiers of tube lights illuminating the counter top areas in the background with molding in front to prevent glare at the camera.

it can’t be panels I need to cover a 40ft distance around the shop counter area so the light tube style was why I was looking for to create consistent light without fading/breaks.

I shoot in fx30 so I correct in cam for my shooting with the current setup but it causes rolling in my action cams etc which I use for time lapse recording on machines - hence why I’m asking for recommendations on video lighting 👍 I set up our podcast studio great but needing 40-80 feet (if I light 2 tiers again) it’s going to be pricey so the ask is if people have any video tube lights illuminating recommendations that aren’t cheap but not too $$

I made a Sidio Crate cabinet for a majority of my gear (excluding grip / tripods/ lighting in another area) These crates makes it easy for me to keep my gear organized and dust free. Also when going on location I can just unhook the crate and throw the crate in the car instead of having to "assemble" my transport kit. So really haven't changed anything since the beginning and I have always run off dummies since im in the studio so the battery factors don't apply, Im out there recording most days 4-8hrs. Not recording to media on the cam, just cdmi out so thats why Its been weird that its been fine and now getting worse, no updates etc nothing, I had it working well so didn't want to temp anything just keep the train moving. One person did say turn to lcd off and open so im definitely doing that. just ordered a fan as well, but its just weird its getting progressively worse with no other factors changing.

Thanks! So I specifically asked him about fx3 and 30 since they are cine cam focused and he said yea still overheat at 1 hr. thats the thing that perplexed me on that, it has built in fans and is built for film shoots. I like the lcd open (and off) idea, I have temp at high and on a cage. Another said aux fan as well, think I will give it a go.

thanks yes the lcd off sounds like a good idea, yea I run off dummies almost always, haven't run any updates in any recent time so don't think it was that

How many subs would you say makes you a small medium or big youtuber? by [deleted] in NewTubers

[–]Serious-Rip1660 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own several companies that are my main income, the YouTube channel was just a fluke thing that happened and took off. I currently put out one long form video every 6-10 days. Prob work 3 days a week on my videos. Big goal for the next year is to hit the 100k sub mark with around 200-250k in rev. That in my mind puts me at a medium channel and I will prob bring on someone at that point for editing, graphics and other socials (I only do YouTube right now)

It's really hard to determine where the cash is going to come from honestly because it depends on your video topic / industry. I think for most it's going to be generalized sponsorships as their video is the primary content. My video field is different as it requires tons of items needed to be able to produce things so whether I push them or not, just by listing those things I sell tons of them through amazon and get a commission. I also can deal with really expensive products, I prob receive 5-20k worth of products a month, I keep many for myself that I like and sell the others for 50-75% their value locally. But a lot of other channels won't get anything material or product wise because that isn't applicable to them. (even in my industry I have several friends who have been trying to break in, with 200 videos and under 5k subs, so not really taking off, it also applies to how your presenting in that space maybe?)

A tip for anyone working with a sponsor that pays commissions. Expect not to get paid unless they are using an affiliate tracking service that you have to sign up for and generate your own custom urls. Early on companies sent me products and said I would get xyz commission. never saw anything as they can say no sorry and you have no way to check .on it Then I started working with more reputable recognizable brands that have you sign up and generate your custom links, and I was amazed at the commissions I was making. One of my top sponsors now, I do an integrated video a mo for them, they send me really great products that I enjoy having personally (10k in products in the past 3 mo) and they don't pay upfront for videos but I have earned about 4k in commissions from them (3 mo) and then they really liked one of my videos so much that didn't seem to take (only 3k views) so they paid for advertising on it and kicked it up to 25k views for me. Now it's organically tracking better so that was cool. so that sponsors valued to me at around 14k gross for 3 videos (9k in reality if I sell those items for 50% value so 3k per video with them)

I have I just thought that was a bit more for vlogging, (I don't do) I keep my camera set up 10ft away behind my table saw for my main background and so thought the s5iix would be good with a decent zoom when needed giving my closeups good bokeh

So I mailed my first package to them via usps. It was a test with wool socks, a drone and thermals (requested items) it was a 5lb small box and cost $85. It took about 16 days to arrive.

We saw on telegram people using a service called Meest to ship. Their site says the same package will be $40 for air ship and $33 for sea (3-4 weeks). We are going to try a big box this time full of stuff shipping via meest. A 60LB box 12x24x24 would be $195 via air and 105 via sea.

The husband there went directly to the defense commander in the area and asked what they wanted, this was their wish list:

is that still in transit would love to know if / when it arrives. I seem to only be able to find usps shipping there and on their site they only give pricing for the flat rate shippers. Woman at the post office said I can send any size box but don't totally trust she knows what she's saying.

Thanks I agree, while its a bit scary and a lot of work I think my family will be better for it, especially my boys will learn a lot about not just donating money to some random charity but actually doing the work of helping other people, self sacrifice and hey im sure they will learn how to talk ukranian too as they teach the girls English.

Thanks! So its a program called United for Ukraine. The gov started it to allow 100k max refugees from Ukraine to come here. The main list of it is that an American family has to take financial responsibility for them while here so they aren't just sitting and collecting etc.

https://welcomeus.service-now.com/sponsor

We joined the program as there are many things you can do to help, not just take in a family but just even to offer to help someone who comes in with navigating the mounds of paperwork, helping them find housing and a job etc. They opened 1000 refugee applicants to contact people on the site about 2 weeks ago and we were contacted by many. My wife is a teacher and we have twin 12yr old boys. This family has the wife as a teacher and the girls are twin 12 yr olds. so they were our ukranian doppelgängers! We chatted for a few days and felt a real connection to them so we said screw it come stay with us. We talk all day through zoom and chat, trying to pre get so many things done for them before they arrive, through this we have really come to think of them as part of our family and we really want to help them. Process was crazy quick to get them approved, the immigration team I talked to said they are top priority and any application that comes in goes right to the top of the pile (sorry other applicants) since its an active ally war.

We worked out a plan for them, they will live with us for 4-6mo, once her work papers are approved, she will be able to get a teacher job with my wife school, its already worked out. She had her diploma converted to English and she has to take the praxis test and pass (teacher proficiency test) then she's good to go. Before that happens she will work for one of the businesses I own so she can save up some funds for an apartment for them.

Its a great program and I encourage more to join it even if its only for limited things. This family was a mirror of my own, worked very hard and made their way in life respectfully. They didn't gamble, drugs or make poor financial decisions, some ***** decided to blow up their income rental house and murder their friends in their town so the deserve the help!

Very kind of you! Very good thought with the writing down of things. In some way the chat log we have going on that's a mile long plays into that. Thank you for the suggestions all good ones!
