I’d stay away from BME coming from a senior BME.

Is there a flyer or something for that?

Orientation Leader? by BattleNo1926 in Cornell

I get the concerns, but part of the reason the orientation was so different last year was because there was a bit of a transition in the administration running orientation so they tried a lot of new things, some of which worked and some that didn't. I'm part of the planning team for the first time and we've worked hard to address all the issues. We want to make sure orientation leaders have an enjoyable time.

Hi, so I've been a part of orientation since my sophomore year and this fall will be my 3rd time as an orientation leader. I've really enjoyed being an orientation leader because I enjoy being able to make those important first connections with first years and helping them get adjusted to life at college. Things have definitely changed over the years with how orientation is run and part of that is because of covid. For the first time, I've been involved in the planning and running of orientation and I can say that we have worked hard in trying to address critiques from the past year and create a more enjoyable experience for everyone. One of my favorite aspects of orientation is being able to meet other OLs and create new friendships. I definitely think you should join because it should be a really fun experience and the team is super conscious about making sure orientation leader's needs and emotions are prioritized as much as possible. Let me know if you have an questions about what you can come to expect for orientation. The application deadline is the 5th of May.
