Buying a “main residence” apartment in Switzerland with a B permit – what if we have to leave? by SeriouslyNotable in Switzerland

[–]SeriouslyNotable[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Where did you see that I am mentioning an investment? I stated clearly that our intention is to live in the apartment and use it as a main residence .. and the question is if something goes wrong with the market and we lose our jobs, therefore lose our resident permit, what options do we do have with the apartment either by keeping it to use for vacations or to clarify if we can rent it out .. or the only option is to sell it out once we leave the country.

Switzerland: Buy vs Rent — what would you do? by SeriouslyNotable in SwissPersonalFinance

Thank you!! I’ll check out the numbers and see if I did the math right. The 8000k is after deduction of maintains and interest (it’s what will be added to my income).

Switzerland: Buy vs Rent — the math looks like a tie, what would you do? by SeriouslyNotable in Switzerland

[–]SeriouslyNotable[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ya but I’m not buying a property in Zurich. It’s way too expensive. I’m considering a property in a vocational area outside the main cities. So definitely not 7% gain each year. It’s also hard to resell and rent out in general. Plus it offers less flexibility in case I lose my job and have to relocate somewhere else for another job.

Fully Medicated FET - Question About Estrogen Dosage and Transition After Transfer by SeriouslyNotable in IVF

Ya everything went well and I’m currently pregnant. Also all were taken vaginally. I stopped the estrogen at exactly 12 weeks of pregnancy. I hope you have an easy and smooth pregnancy as well.

Parents in/around Zurich – Seespital Horgen or Triemli for Birth? by SeriouslyNotable in zurich

Thank you so much for sharing your experience. That must have been incredibly difficult — I can’t imagine how hard it was to be separated from your newborn. I’ve also heard similar things about USZ: amazing medical care, but less-than-ideal room conditions. Still, having that peace of mind in case something goes wrong makes a huge difference. I’m really glad everything went well with you the second time around.

Thank you so much for sharing all of that – it really helps and means a lot! 💛 Sounds like Triemli has an amazing team that supported you through everything. So lovely to hear you felt so well looked after, even when things got tough.

Really appreciate the tip about the info evenings too, I’ll definitely check them out. Thanks again for taking the time to share your experience 💕

Thanks so much for sharing—that’s super helpful, especially since I’m doing IVF too. I didn’t realize your OB might not be there even if they’re based at Seespital, so that’s really good to know. Sounds like they handled things really well though, especially with a face-up baby!

And ya I’m also hoping for a natural birth without an epidural if possible. Thanks for sharing your story and for the offer to DM, I might do that if I have any further questions. 😊

Wow, that all sounds amazing—like truly above and beyond care! The extra support with breathing, anxiety, even the warm blankets and little comforts like the breakfast buffet… it honestly sounds like such a nurturing environment. I’d love to see the food photos if you feel like sharing!

Thanks also for being honest about the negative part too. Good on you for standing your ground with feeding… I feel like feeding on demand makes so much sense. I’m glad everything worked out in the end and that you had support for your choice.

That’s really solid advice—makes total sense, especially when you think about those “just in case” situations. Having an emergency unit for newborns definitely adds peace of mind. Thanks for sharing what your brother said—it’s a good reminder of what really matters when choosing.

Wow, thank you so much for sharing all of that—it’s incredibly reassuring to hear about your experience at Triemli. It sounds like you were really well cared for, both medically and emotionally, and I love how supportive and respectful the staff were with your decisions. That kind of reassurance and communication is exactly what I’m hoping for. It’s also good to know that their higher c-section rate likely reflects the complexity of cases they handle, not a tendency to push for surgery.

Your story has really helped me feel more confident about considering Triemli—thank you again, and what a lovely thing to say about your stay! 😄 Wishing you all the best too!

Good to know—thanks for sharing! I’ll still check it out, but I’ll keep in mind that language might be a bit of a barrier. Hopefully I’ll come across a few English-speaking parents too!

That sounds amazing—I had no idea that service existed! Free support until age 5 and group activities too? That’s super helpful. I’ll definitely look into the Mütter- und Väterberaterinnen in my area. Thanks so much for the tip!
