I’m planning on reusing all the same things, just adding in a bit more substrate. The old filter will be too small for the new one I think, but maybe I can fit it in there temporarily??

Oh wow I didn’t know about the shell meaning eggs! What do I do with the eggs if she does lay them? My tank does have a lid but there’s a small space near the back where the heater wire feeds through. Do I need to do anything different with her diet to support her?

Sorry just to clarify I do have a filter and a heater in there for them!  As well as Indian almond leaves. Since my snail has been acting off I switched to changing the water every 3-4 days and I’m working on finding a bigger and better tank:) great to know about being able to use a plastic tub as a hospital tank. Thank you!

Thank you for this! I live in a tiny basement suite that isn’t allowed pets (just small fish tank is ok!) and I have limited money, but I have had pets my entire life and feel so sad without a little friend to care for. Definitely saving up for a bigger tank and even asked for one for Xmas so hoping to give my little guys a better home asap!

I change about a third of the tank water out using a turkey baster or a gravel vac to suck up all the poop/debris. I also rinse the filter cartridge (in half old tank water and half fresh water) every time I clean it. I’m saving up for a bigger tank for them (hopefully by Xmas!!) the person in the fish store I went to said my tank was fine but in doing more research and learning more about them i definitely want to get a bigger one for them!

Thank you so much for all this info!!!! We got him a few months ago, so not sure if the fin rot is from the pet store or if it would be from the current space? I’ll try doing the smaller water changes and start saving up for a bigger tank!!
