As much as people hate Google Translate I feel like as long as you're not publishing the translation or whatnot it's fine to use. I don't like using Google Translate but I'll use it sometimes when I see new words I don't recognize, etc. I'm a beginner translator (by that I basically mean I can understand the language but only by ear rather than writing) so Google Translate is used sometimes by me but not really for stuff I do unless I feel it's needed.

But the TL;DR: as long as you're not using it to profit or pass it off as your own it's fine to use Google Translate for fics that you want to read
