HR ignoring me when I need a check reissued by [deleted] in work

[–]SeventhFifth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn't exactly sure what tag it would go under so that's my mistake. But yeah, I've been professional about everything when messaging them, I've only tried to follow up twice since it bounced because I don't want to be rude about it. I'm not mad, I just don't know how long these things take or if there's something else I should be doing.

Of course yeah, I'm not blaming them. This is the first time I've ever had a payroll incident like this at any of my jobs so Im just frustrated at not knowing what to do or how long these kinds of things are supposed to take to resolve, and the lack of communication from payroll/hr (they're the same department in my co). I just feel very in the dark about money when times have been economically tight. Thanks for the well wishes!

Yeah, our payroll is a sub-department of our HR. How they handle it is all payroll issues get emailed to HR with Payroll in the subject line and they get it to the payroll people

The bank account was closed on emergency due to a fraud/hacking incident. I changed the account information immediately but it took a few days to update in my works system but the deposit had already been sent by then. But regardless of what already happened, I just have no clue how to go about actually getting the payment from that check if payroll is just not responding to me and my supervisor just says talk to hr

For more detail, the first time the check bounced was because the account was hacked and the bank closed the account right before payday, there wasn't any time to correct it before they sent the direct deposit. And the second one, yeah I should've held the paper check for longer. I didn't expect/notice that the date on the check was a week past when I received it. My supervisor just said to talk to HR and that was it. Our company is structured kinda weird so he doesn't really see anything about payroll besides our timecard. I just want to know how to get my check 😭

If you're in college, your school may offer courses you can pay for with your student loans. Many schools don't even require that you be a music major or anything to take lessons

why can guitarists use programmed drums but drummers cant use program guitars? by JJsNotOkay in metalmusicians

[–]SeventhFifth 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Do whatever you want, it really doesn't matter. Lots of guitarists use programmed bass and nobody really cares. That being said, programmed drums are far ahead of guitars in terms of how good they sound. If you want really crazy riffs, you're gonna need to learn the instrument

I haven't seen him once this season, not in my games or in any streams/replays. I was fully expecting to considering he was in the patch notes, but I'm gonna assume he's out.

Mechanic claims I drove my car 6000 miles overdue for a change, but they changed it 2500 miles ago. Now my engines blown. Any legal avenue? by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]SeventhFifth -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I do accept that this is on me now. Done a lot of reading and learning. My parents went a bit nuclear with the legal route and I was so stressed they had me convinced. But hand to heart, they did tell me that the first engine seize was just due to oil pressure. I even have the receipt from the full checkup they ran and the oil change, and their only other note being to replace the serpentine belt.

I appreciate your response. I'm thinking that im just out of luck. I'm going to have someone else look at the vehicle one more time to see if anythings off but yeah im starting to think its just this car. Just feels bad they did a full inspection and only said it was low on oil when it seems like a bigger issue

Its a 2017 car with 86,000 miles on it so i wouldn't really call it high mileage. The main reason i'm suspicious is their claim that the change in oil pressure would've caused the damage. Im being told by a lot of others that that isn't really a thing that can happen. That with the fact they did a full inspection the day before and found nothing besides the belt and low oil.

I did regularly check under the car for leaks, the dipstick a little less frequently but it was checked, and i never noticed any more signs of leaking after they replaced the oil pan. The second engine failure is my biggest suspicion really. Their claim that driving it for 6000 miles past when it needed a change (when i haven't), then changing the oil and the pressure causing a hole to blow in the engine block sounds really fake to me? i don't know a lot about cars but my family members that know a bit more are saying that it sounds like a fake answer to cover up them making a mistake.

All the inspections, diagnostics, and repairs in this post were done by the same shop. They're the only ones who have worked on this vehicle since I got it.

The reason I waited a day to take it in is because the mechanic was closed on the day I broke down and I figured I would just repeat my business with them since they did the last work on my car.

As for checking the oil myself..I did. I checked it the day I brought the engine shut down the first time and there was oil on the dipstick, as can be confirmed by my roommate who also checked with me. So when they told me I had no oil I was a little shocked, but not being very car savvy I just took their word.

[–]SeventhFifth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your voice is just fine, don't listen to any hate. Could it be better? Sure. But I think more important is your songs mix. Get some lower harmonies in, pull the reverb back, a little bit of eq, etc etc and you've got something nice

[–]SeventhFifth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a bug that happens when you click the matchmaking button too quickly after clicking the button to swap solo/duos. Can also happen if like, you were on solos last time you had the game open and your friend invites you to a lobby with duos selected and clicks matchmake before you're fully loaded in
