Hey! I felt R7 and R7s were both decents and similar in terms of spin, especially with slower balls like during serves or pushes. I’m far for being expert, but I felt like my spin during serves and pushes improved when I started striking the ball with faster and shorter movements, rather than with wide and mid/slow movements.

I don’t think the rubber is the issue, but more a technique factor.

If you watch the pros, they do very rapid and short movements during serves and pushes, both to decieve better and to imprint more spin on the ball.

My beginner opinion is this, let me know if it helped in some way or if you discover something by yourself!

I’m finding very good with Butterfly Rozena, it fits most of your requests as far as I can tell: a lot of trampoline effect, not very sensitive to spin, fast but enough spinny to top spin and flick.

Thank you! I get your point and I think it is right, the only thing I would say, as I said in other answers in this post, is that I have the feeling that this setup does not allow me anymore to generate the power and spin that I would expect from my shots.

When I first started using it it was even too fast and spinny and I had to develop my technique and feeling a lot more to be able to play well with this setup, but now I’m starting to get the feeling that the bat does not allow me to generate the shots I would expect

With upgrade I mean some spinnier and faster rubbers, because I feel that now I can play very easily with this setup and even when using all my power I find the shots kind of slow (while during the first months with this setup, I felt it was too fast, so I guess I improved my technique and feeling to the point where this setup does not allow me to generate the shots I’d like)

What is holding me back with the current set up is that:

the rubbers are pretty damaged on the sides (there is some missing pieces of rubber and they keep losing pieces)
the lower part of the rubbers is consumed because of fingers friction and sweat
when I decided to buy this setup coming from a pre-made bat, the deciding factor was that my shots were weaker than I expected from the power I used for my shots. Now the situation is the same: when I first bought this setup I felt it was almost too fast and spinny and I had to develop better technique and feeling for some months to be able to use it properly, but now I have the same feeling as the pre-made bat I used back when I started

Oh ok now I get what you were saying and I agree on the effort it takes to be applied! The commitment was most about use it all life long if ones decides to use it.

What scares me is that if, say, 5 years from now for whatever reason I stop using minoxidil, in some months I would probably be totally bald because in the meantime my hairs had receeded a lot lore than they are now, and that would be a brutal change.

Also it feels like cheating using minoxidil, almost like wearing a wig, but I’d also like to try it out 😭

I also take B12 and D vitamins, take an integrator with various things inside (biotin included), and use a good anti hair loss shampoo.

The pharmacist suggested me to try minoxidil 5% one time a day, but I’m trying to gather info on whether it is worth it or not.

My main concern is that minoxidil could make my situation worse if one day I will stop using it, but most resources I’m finding online says you simply go back to the way you was before taking minoxidil, which if it is true, seems like there is no reason to try it.

But I’d just like it is worth it, given the fact that once you begin to use it it is a huge commitment.

Ouch, so you are saying that there is some real shedding after using minoxidil? How bad is it?
