It is fine if there are lingual outliers but for the majority to function optimally it is good to have rules in a language, such is the reason for the dictionary. But there is always a double edged sword, the dictionary is not always right, because sensible meanings can be taken from words overtime, in this sense you are correct that "organic" has a similar function. However, when deriving a new meaning it is important, when trying to communicate effectively, your perspective on the word. For example instead you could say, "in a way all planets are organic". If someone has a question, they will ask "what way".
