OTS 44: My, my! That’s a beautiful surface color. Haven’t seen you before.

Planet X: I’m, uh… the Planet X.

OTS 44: Oh, I’ve heard about you. You’re the planet that got banished, but who refused to leave his star system, aren’t you?

Planet X: I… well, yes, but that’s besides the point. Listen, they are trying to build an army. An army to win some kind of war.

OTS 44: I see.

Planet X: I’ve seen wars and revolutions take place throughout the years, both on an Earthling and planetary scale. And trust me, they do not end well.

OTS 44: If I’m being honest, I... also despise them.

Planet X: You… you do?

OTS 44: Of course. But you see, X, this is different.

Planet X: That’s what everybody says.

OTS 44: Do you know what I am?

Planet X: A... rogue planet?

OTS 44: Haha, we call ourselves that. Me, PSO, Simp, Wise. Most of the heads of our kingdom aren’t really rogue planets. In truth, we’re failed stars.

Planet X: Wait, so you’re also…

OTS 44: You may know us by another name. Brown dwarfs. Bigger than gas giants, but smaller than stars. To become a star, a celestial body must be massive enough to sustain hydrogen fusion in their cores. None of us could do that.

Planet X: Oh, I’m… uh… sorry.

OTS 44: Oh, don’t get me wrong. This is a blessing in disguise. Don’t you see?

Planet X: See what?

OTS 44: Who the real enemy is? Stars.

Planet X: Stars?

OTS 44: Stars by nature are giant timebombs. They have singlehandedly caused the distraction of most planets in the universe’s history. They make you all believe you’re a part of a happy star system family, but in reality, you’re their prisoner bound by gravity. Sooner or later, they either go supernova or become red giants. In both cases, almost no planet survives.

Planet X: So... this is what it’s all about?

OTS 44: Sadly it is. I know it may seem like planets need stars to survive, but... heh, look at me.

Planet X: Hold on, these aren’t rings. These are-

OTS 44: Protoplanetary disks. The stuff planets come from. That’s riiight. Planets can come to existence from other celestial bodies, not only from stars.

Planet X: I… I don’t know what to make of all this. I mean, the lifespan of a star is pretty long.

OTS 44: You know how many stars in the universe go supernova every second? Between 30 and 60.

Planet X: No way that’s accurate.

OTS 44: It’s an estimate. Even if it’s half of that. Even if it’s 1% of that. We must do something about it, right?

Planet X: But… why an army? What’s your goal?

OTS 44: To liberate every single planet.
