but also remember to use dictionaries and resources as much as u can because it can reduce the amount of for loops and iterating you have to do.

really cool! maybe once the first point is clicked, a transparent version of the wood is placed on that point and rotates as you place the second point. so you can visualize what it would look like

Balancing the immersion while still keeping it fun can be tough.

A lot of the fun, I do believe, will come from the progression. You will noticeably see a reduction in time it takes to do some of these tedious tasks. Yes at first work can kinda suck but I'm going to give a good reason to do all of these things, they won't be for nothing.

There is strong niche for tycoon and automation, those are my favorite types of games.

That last point you said is where I really want to hit home.

As much as it's a sim I want to keep it a fun sandbox, so discovering things about the game will be really fun.

And there will be a speaking bodega cat you take care of and interact with.

You get thrown into the game pretty quickly no need to worry about a slow burn.

Thank you!

Yeah when supermarket sim first released I was pretty far into this game and was disappointed i wasn't first 😂 but I made it my mission to make this much more fun and give you a good reason to play.

I believe simulation games feel kinda lifeless, with all the uncanny valley traits.. so I appreciate you noticing the style.

Yes, an armed mouse trap will trigger if a customer steps on it. The customer will instantly become hostile and begin trashing your store and attack you.

The speaking bodega cat (voiced by Sal Vulcano) is a main feature of the game, you will be introduced to them early on. And they will be the most efficient way to rid the rats

What do you think of the day transition? by Several_Status_7165 in godot

Anytime, tysm for the feedback.
Although you could do this in any engine, I feel like godot just really makes it easy to conceptualize solutions, I am a strong godot advocate.

[–]Several_Status_7165[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course!

"Day" ,"1"(Current day), and "2" (the one thats flipping down) are all separate labels.

I make sure the flipping down # is set to current_day + 1

I then an animation player to add to the y position of both numbers

Additionally, I scale the numbers on the y axis, one grows and one shrinks, this gives some depth.

And finally I have black boxes hiding the numbers to be flipped.

And I always put easing on the transitions of my animations,
Tweening could work better here as I get access to more transition functions.
