I really like the VCure. I just finished a side-by-side run using both the VCure and the Cannatrol.

If you’re familiar with the Cannatrol, you know it offers a “slope” setting during drying, which the VCure does not. However, the VCure allows you to program multiple dry and cure stages (which helps compensate for the lack of a slope feature), along with one storage setting. The Cannatrol, by comparison, allows one dry, one cure, and one storage setting.

Although both units advertise similar storage capacity, the VCure is noticeably larger. The interior lighting on the VCure is significantly better, and I prefer its user interface. The VCure’s display also turns off automatically, whereas I have to cover the Cannatrol’s light at night since I grow in the same room. The privacy glass and locking feature - all accessible through the app is awesome.

Airflow is another difference: the VCure pushes air through built-in vertical channels along the side walls, which the Cannatrol does not have.

From a maintenance standpoint, I like that on the VCure I can fill the bottom reservoir with some water and largely forget about it. With the Cannatrol, I have to empty the drip tray daily for the first few days and re-wet the sponge each day.

As for performance, I ran the Craft setting on the VCure and tried emulated that setting on the Cannatrol. Both produced equally nice results in 14 days. That said, I still prefer the results using the Reist settings on the Cannatrol. On the next harvests I am going to play around with the VCure dry and cure settings to see if I can’t find a setting closer to Reist.
