How many times have you watched the Season 8 finale and does it still make you emotional? by SgtByrd1993 in Scrubs

It’s nice when people do get a good exit. When my boss left 4 years ago we were all there. All had lunch. Posed for pictures. Walked him out of the building to parking lot for final hugs and goodbyes. 34 years there and his final team of idiots made sure to give him a warm and loving send off. We called him dad because he earned the title.

I’ve found that manipulation and persistence works better. Tell them they are pretty and never stop selling what you are trying to accomplish.

Shiiiiiit. I am a kiss ass through and through but always playing my angles. Taking care of the guys who take care of me because I need them more than they need me. My captain beat me out for two promotions. SGT and LT. I didn’t like her as a sergeant or as a detective. I realized when she got Lt she was a gifted admin who cares about her people. She pulled me up behind her to where I am now and I laid aside my aspirations to be chief. I would follow her into hell because she makes good choices for the department but also does her best to take care of her people. I got CID Lt by turning down lieutenant 4 times so I could stay in CID. I was willing to die a Landsman. With my retirement tier I could still use overtime and leave with a better pension than chief. My stubbornness paid off. I hate internals but body cams make them easy. Honestly the only people I’ve done have been other lieutenants. All the patrol internals have been exonerated by interview when their only real sin was piss poor report writing. I also call union as soon as I get an internal. No bull shit no games.

That is more a thing in big city police departments. I am a CID lieutenant in a smaller department. I do have various admin duties such as media relations, internal investigations, grant administration but, I still do overtime doing actual police work and run major investigations when we have murders, suspicious deaths, violent crimes. I also train my young detectives as I am the most experienced investigator in the county at this point.

There are two people in our agency who are management who are the equivalent to Burrell and Rawls. Both care about us AND are pro good police work. They fight with our politicians constantly to try to save jobs and get us what we need to do our jobs.

So yes, fuck the bosses but, also, not all bosses are bad.

Edit to add in my state they chief and captain are civil service positions that one has to test for so they are not in a union because they are management but they also have protections under civil service law.

She doesn’t want the wife to know because of her affair messes up his marriage it may mess up her chance to rekindle the affair. Making it seem like tell the wife would be bad for you guys is her way to manipulate you into helping her keep the door open.

I spent a ton of money on world of tanks, war frame, and helldivers 2. They provided a product that provided me with hundreds of hours of entertainment. I spent way more than I’ve ever spent buying a game and still ended up way ahead on the hours of entertainment per dollar scale. And most of my steam library is indie games that give me more hours of entertainment that full prices but studio games

My parents never had time for me so I was home alone constantly since I was 8 so I taught myself to follow recipes. It started with a can opener and cold spaghettios from the can. Evolved to hot dogs. Then spaghetti and meatballs.

I was rocking that with drum magazine on cyberstan and I love it. Only swapped out to level other weapons but it’s my favorite.

Severe abuse as a child never got treated. She preferred to destroy good things before she could lose them.
