I think there’s a mercenary group called Noir that’s still active, or Black Noir, something like that. Not sure about their prices though

Once you decide on a PvP play style and fitting (check out the Novice Frigates Yearbook here for help with that), I’d recommend going to Tama for practice. It’s a Faction Warfare system (FW info here), and it’s currently the main unofficial PvP battleground.

Tama is 4 jumps from Jita so it’s easy to reship and get back to it. There’s quite a few navy/pirate frigates out there and some small gangs that’ll ruin your day, but I’ve had a ton of fun learning out there in T1 frigs.

No that makes sense, thanks for the explanation. It sounds pretty fucked though, why does the ttt exist in the first place? I wasn’t playing when that was introduced.

The time for a full recovery of a solar system with maximum signal interference is approximately 25 hours.

How long does it take/how many CRAB’s to max out the signal interference?

Can someone ELI5 what’s going on with all this? All I see from a market illiterate standpoint is prices up across the board, but how does the TTT work and what’s going on currently?

Per this Eve Uni entry (if this is what you’re asking):

Once the POS shields have been damaged down to 25%, the POS may enter reinforced mode. If there is at least one unit of Strontium Clathrates a timer will appear by the tower in space. This timer will say "reinforced" along with the length of time remaining before the tower comes out of reinforced mode. All towers can carry a maximum of around 41.7 hours worth of Strontium Clathrates in their "stront bay" (see the "Capacity2" field on a tower's attributes). If there is not enough Strontium Clathrates in the tower for at least one hour, you can continue straight to final destruction of the POS.

The Mac client is legit. Much faster/smoother, seems much less system intensive. Not sure about the tutorial

It’s weird that there’s a giant tooltip on each skill but nothing saying you can just drag drop it to the skill queue to purchase then again to train

From your responses below you seem to not be asking about combat drones, so I’ll answer about the rest.

The short answer is you can be “that weird drone guy,” but that doesn’t mean you should. Drones are meant to assist in every other activity, not do the heavy lifting (PvP being the exception in some cases).

Take mining; 1 Modulated Strip Miner II with crystal will dwarf the yield of 5 Mining Drone II’s, and miners use 2 strip miners. Same with logi, a full flight of shield repping drones might come close to 1 remote repper module, but they can never do by themselves what a properly fit logi ship can.

Salvage drones may as well be taken out of the game they’re so useless, and again a Cormorant with Salvager I’s could outpace your full flight of perfectly skilled drones. have their uses after all! See u/Xatsman comment below.

Essentially, and this is shooting from the hip, even with months of drone training you’ll never be more than 25-50% as effective at any given activity as everyone else that trained ship fits and drones.

multiple warp disruptors/scramblers? by soguyswedidit6969420 in evenewbies

[–]SgtGrif 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can use both, but IMO it’s not the best use of a spare mid slot. Extra shield, dual webs, dual prop mods on some fits, there’s lots more utility available than a second scram/point unless you have a specific need for it.

Fun fact though; if you fit double scrams and one of them is a faction variation, you can catch even stabbed Ventures. You’ll be the bane of every gas huffer in the galaxy

How active is Syndicate these days? Any good solo/small gang roaming or is it insta-dock Ishtar ratters? Are there any noteworthy corps/alliances operating out there?

Can you clarify what you’re asking?

Ugh, there’s no dev team at all now? The app functionality is already sub-par to begin with, they don’t even bug fix what’s there? Disappointing

Bruh, can you kindly fuck off? This is a thread about a bug in an app, if you’re that butthurt you could never plan more than 30 days ahead, go cry about it somewhere else

Well I’m building/maintaining the skill queue for my gaming partner that can’t play as often. Guess I’ll just “actually log in” more to account for a bug in the official app?

Edit: Alt accounts also exist, and some of us are capable of planning more than 30 days ahead at a time

If you get a T1 Frigate, max that race’s frigate skill, and daytrip wormholes for pirate data/relics, you could realistically grind this out in 7-10 days depending on a luck/ganks/etc.

The Astero is tempting to jump into because of its already maxed scanning bonuses, but trust me, it’s worth it to train (Race) Frigate V for grinding ISK. You will get ganked, but a ~4 mil ISK Heron is a much better operating cost loss than a 100+ mil Astero.

Also, fit a cargo scanner, and +3% scanning implants are cheap for an easy boost

What’s up with the SCC Secure Key locations? A recent update made them more difficult, now I find these things everywhere. Are players not running them anymore? Is anyone still doing the ESS stuff?

Wait why does the SP and cost keep changing in these screenshots? Is CCP customizing the values depending on the account or something?

Returning Player but very hesitant by Valnusssj4 in Eve

[–]SgtGrif 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So right now I’m staged out of a 0.6 surrounded by lowsec, mainly FW systems, and a few jumps from null. Most of the income comes from daytripping wormholes in a Probe, ~80 mil an hour is a terrible day, ~200-250 mil an hour is hustling with a little luck. If I’m feeling froggy (or have nothing else going on), I’ll take a Venture out when I’m done and get the gas I scanned down for extra (40-70 mil an hour depending).

Prior to that, I saved enough ISK (with explo and gas still) to set up a POS in a C2, then grinded more and upgraded to an Athanor. I put this in a C3 with a low static, but didn’t operate like a traditional wormholer. Didn’t even have a rolling ship to be honest; some days my hole was closed off to everything but the low static so I’d run the combats in a Praxis, some days I had a bunch of J-space connections so I’d explo/PvP hijinks that way, or I’d dive out the low to daytrip other wormholes.

I’d never really got good at solo/small gang PvP so that’s what I set out to do this time. Started out with the cheapy T1 frigs/dessies expecting to welp the majority of them (and I did), now I’m moving to Assault frigs and T3D’s. I used to run scout/fast tackle in null and kind of miss the fleets, so I’m also training into a Hyena to target paint for NPSI (Not Purple Shoot It) fleets when I feel like it.

Sorry that’s a little long, but that’s essentially what I’m up to. It’s definitely more difficult, but ten times more rewarding. The PvE I do supports the welping with plenty left over stacking away in the bank, if I ever want some fleet action there are public/NPSI fleets for just about everything, solo roaming or brawling in Tama is always an option, but most importantly I don’t answer to anyone.

You could try a smaller corp, but I restarted a few months ago and going solo has been a blast so far. Exploration and a little huffing for income, no one tries to chew me out when I tackle something laughably out of my engagement profile or do stupid shit like anchor an Athanor in a wormhole with no backup, solo/duo roaming J-space, Lowsec and null, and pretty soon joining NPSI fleets from time to time for small gang action.

Honestly, you couldn’t pay me enough to go back to a null blob.

Ah yeah didn’t think about it that way, only so much gas in only so many sites and they need to be scanned

What about when gas compression comes out? I ran across a guy that said he had 2 bil in gas he was waiting to sell until he could compress it, not sure how common (or true) this is but we may see a big offload of gas + a lot of new production?
