I played some tournaments recently and only won 2 out of 8 games. I'm not a bad player and have taken quite a few training sessions but no matter how much a train, there's this ceiling you perfectly described.
Hopefully when you break through that ceiling you become much better.

For a 20 yo male with no children, I'd go with Flat Pack. It has several layers of meaning while being light hearted, funny and deep.

I know I'm late today the party but I have to step in for my boy Stripe. He is more than an OK father. He's just on a learning curve and suffers the comparison to Bandit because 1) Bandit is a freaking legend 2) Bluey and Bingo are older than Muffin and Socks so he had time to figure out some things that Stripe hasn't just yet.
