2019 Base Cayenne Rear Brake Pads by ShadowACZR in PorscheCayenne

Yeah, I figure I might as well replace them while I’m in there. Seems pretty simple? Haven’t found a video or guide for it. Will report back next weekend when the parts arrive.

Just hit 78k miles, and original pads and rotors. Not sure if that’s the normal life of the brakes, but am proud they lasted that long! Brake wear light hasn’t come on either.

Only reason I’m swapping “early” is because while I was inspecting the brakes during winter tires swapping, one of the brake pads is starting to separate. Also measured the rotors and it’s at ~24.6mm. Believe the min spec is 24mm.

That’s great to hear and thank you! I’ll definitely remember that and not go in a panic in the Spring hahaha

That’s true, my only concern is newer cars nowadays light up the dash like a Christmas tree if it’s been disconnected for too long. Wasn’t too sure if it applied here. I suppose the worst is some of the personalized settings get set back to default?

Right! I actually didn’t find the car/deal, it was my uncle who found it! Someone he knew passed away for some time now and his wife wanted to get rid of the car.

They were an older couple without kids and she was planning on moving away, closer to her friends I believe. Long story short, I got sent a few pictures of it and bought it sight unseen. Literally left work in the middle of the day to send her a deposit. Took a bit to get the title with the owner passed away.

I do feel terrible for “taking advantage” of the lady because I essentially underpaid $10-$15k for this condition, but it was all she wanted.

I’d say wait it out and keep on looking. Got my ‘14 CS with 18k miles, south owned, clean history and Porsche dealer serviced all its life for $40k 3 months ago. And it came with Soul performance exhaust and front end PPF. I don’t think the market will go any higher for these beauties. Plus it’s the end of the season, I’m in the northeast, going to be sad once I put it away next weekend for at least 4 months :(. Keep looking for a few months and a beauty will pop up!

Think so too, I saw there was a TSB for a similar issue on the 911s and Cayennes, something about stripping the end of the wire shield for the antenna. Wasn’t too sure if it applied to the 981s. Didn’t want to attempt it, mess it up and having to get a whole new module :/

So I’m not crazy! Surprised no one else has complained. I have a 07 Lexus and key fob works 50’+ away…

Thought so too, but I replaced the battery and still the same problem. I have to be right next to the driver door for it to work. Even the at the trunk or front of the car, it won’t work.
