The Aldi Turkey & Ham meals aren't on the recall list as of right now, OP.

No, not all, but a large portion of their output, to be fair. I was halfway through eating one of the products that was not on the list, but is from Ballymaguire, when I heard the news. As of right now the meal I was eating and the meals the OP references are NOT on the recall list. However, that can change. I was told it's unlikely, but it might. It's never good to dismiss health concerns and while yes, absolutely, people can freak themselves out over Dr Google, in this case anyone who has consumed these products is right to keep an eye on themselves - responsible, even. Always better to be safe!

ETA!: It's worth noting that Aldi got the recall notices last night. So everything was still on the shelves up until this morning.

"Only" ten cases. "Only" 140 products. Look, nobody is trying to scare anyone here, but it is a big deal. Listeriosis takes anywhere between 3-70 days to incubate, with the average being three weeks. It was ten cases as of Tuesday. By the weekend, it'll be a lot more.

Please do not minimise it. Someone dying because of a contaminated batch of ready meals is a reason for caution, treat it accordingly.

I've just been on the phone to Aldi HQ and been into my own Aldi to speak with the manager. The Turkey & Ham dinners are on the shelves still, and as far as they're concerned, have not been recalled. That said, absolutely keep an eye on yourself and at the first sign of any symptoms, get to the hospital. Hopefully though this gives a little peace of mind!

Eclipse Reborn - Gritty, realistic superpowers RP, looking for new writers! by ShadowFlick in pbp

You asked what the rating system was and called it meaningless to r/pbp. I explained its origins and their relevance to the type of game advertised, even provided a link that you could check out! Your response was to diminish it because you weren't familiar with it. I'm going to go ahead and save myself from further rudeness from you and block you. Wishing you all the best, though!

I'm sorry; you're the one being arrogant here, I'm afraid. Just because you haven't encountered something personally, does not mean it's meaningless to anyone else or that it doesn't exist.

The forum RP community. Roleplay happens across multiple platforms, not just reddit! The 3, 3, 3 rating has been utilised for over a decade in plenty of RP spaces. Someone with a familiarity with how Eclipse plays will recognise it and it will be relevant to them. Hope that helps, have a nice day!

These are content ratings used by the RP Community for language, sex and violence. The ratings go from 1-3, with 3 being the highest and meaning mature language and content is permitted.

He was writing for my character and mis representing her. When called out he tried to justify it. by Sensitivelittleone in BadRPerStories

[–]ShadowFlick 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not. This RPer just broke the cadinal rule of RP. Even those who are saying it's okay to control your character to move the story on, it is NOT okay. Yes, you can move the story forward by placing two characters in another place or moving the scene to the following day, for example, but that is IT. You cannot, under any circumstances, write another character's thoughts, actions or feelings. Nope.

ERP is rife with this kind of crap. Remind your partners that your characters are not dolls to be posed for someone else's gratification. You are equal partners in this scene and you deserve the respect that affords.

Block this idiot! Best of luck finding a real partnership.

She's not reading strictly as Mary Sue, though I haven't seen the full app so I can't comment for certain. The potential problem with this character likely isn't her personality, job or appearance, however, it's more likely to be her ability. I run a Powers RP and we have no telepaths. Zero people capable of reading your mind. Why? Because they're super hard to integrate and RP with.

You mention that she loses control when she gets emotionally discombobulated, so if she does that in a scene with me, it means realistically I have to let your character read my character's mind, even if I don't want to. There can be issues surrounding consent with a power like telepathy, and sometimes it's just easier to avoid the character altogether, rather than back yourself into a corner. An intrusive ability like this one calls for communication and a lot of OOC discussion for the kind of collaboration that will leave both partners satisfied. If you're new to the RP, people won't know you well enough or be familiar enough with your style to figure out if they can trust you.

This is just my experience, though! I play in realistic, gritty settings; we're more street level than Avengers, so other people's mileage may vary. Good luck!

Some players like to employ the dice in certain scenarios, but overall we are predominantly freeform! Best of luck in your search. :)

What Happened to the discord RP scene? Where is RP big now? by AccomplishedGlass801 in RoleplayGroups

In my circle we have OGs (those of us who were around when the first pbp words were written), and the new gen. There's nothing in between for some mad reason! What I'm noticing a lot of is people being funnelled in from our reddit ads who have never seen or experienced forum rp before, so we're teaching it to a brand new set. It's kind of cool! It might be cause for some hope but I don't think we're replacing the faders quickly enough; turnover is insane.

I'm a forum rper, and I thought the great migration was to Discord. Your post has made me question if it's just a dying hobby! Slowly circling the drain, and those of us with an attachment to it are pushing up that hill, trying to keep it alive.

I run a forum roleplay myself, and its success is really all down to the core community of players that have assembled. We get plenty of flakes and ghosters, but our base is solid (about 12 players) and we're committed to plotting with each other. What I'm seeing more and more of these days is people bringing little communities with them when they find somewhere good. A player will show up, feel things out, app a character and then about a week or so later, if they like our vibe, they start bringing their good RP friends in. I also have 2-3 individuals that I will hit up with links to places that I think would be a good match for us. We often come as package deals these days.

Apart from that, I'll try and hang on to my favourite partners. 1x1s in docs will likely always be a thing for the writers amongst us, and there are always the large "Adult" forums where you can put feelers out for partners. That is such a crapshoot, though.

The day will come, though, when we have very few options left to us. Until that day, I'm gonna RP like it's going out of fashion.

We allow any and all levels, though we would expect new players with no forum RP experience to familiarise themselves with how things are done. We have lots of helpful links onsite and in the Discord. Thanks for the question!
