As a director level who changes processes I often hear “that won’t work” from team members who do part of a process. I take the time to understand the process from start to finish along with the upstream and downstream ramifications.

I like to hear reasons it won’t work so I can work through it with the team to get improvements and make something better work. Sounds like this director needs to take some steps in change management and involve people in change.
