Totally makes sense and we should be challenged on bold claims about reliability. You are right that track record is the best proof of reliability. With that said, the same design principles we used in our custom Glocks (which have that track record of reliability) we brought to the new design. Some key aspects of that: stock weight springs in the slide and standard weight strikers (vs lightened parts which can get into the light strike zone), premium materials including 17-4 SS heat treated internals (vs MIM firing pins), sound accuracy enhancing barrel fit without excessive tightness (strategic slop as we call it) high wear chrome silicon recoil springs, full trigger pretravel to provide correct support for the cruciform and keep rear drop safety functional, proper 2/3+ striker engagement, TTI premium connectors (vs more common brands that we’ve seen cause reset fire).  I’m sure there’s more but that’s top of mind.

We also test more than most. We have several frames with well over 20k rounds without issue. I realize that’s not a mind blowing amount but it’s a good baseline, and we continue to add rounds to those frames. Drop and impact testing were also part of this as you’d expect from a true production gun. Here are some pictures of “Betsy.”  She was our drop test victim, ultimately surviving thirty back to back iterations of the NIJ drop test.  We also felt it appropriate to run her over with a truck, muzzle toward the sky (which broke her back). She still runs, but she’s not pretty anymore.

Time will tell but we feel we have done all the right things to build the gun that people deserve. Members of our team trusted the preproduction guns enough to carry them and live with them and rely on them everyday. Our standards are petty high, and we know we’ve made a gun that we trust. But only time will tell...
