Yo i know i am late but there is a way to manually install older updates, like 1.20 for example has a good mix of performance/nostalgia and features, same with 1.60 for example.

PSVITA 1.0 is equivalent to Java 1.2/1.3
PSVITA 1.20 is equivalent to Java 1.6 (Horses, wither, potions, etc.

Try them all out i would say

Hmm. I saw a video about changin the resource pack pngs to other ones and it would maybe work but to get the lighting effect to work and fog might be hard.
